On this Memorial Day let’s take a moment to remember and thank all those who have served our country so that we have the freedom to choose to live the life we want. Freedom does come at a cost. There were many sacrifices that were made to have the freedom we enjoy today. Starting with the founding fathers of our country who risked their lives so others could pursue the American dream, and live in freedom.

What’s your dream? Let’s continue to pave the way for others and bring this country back to greatness! Comparison to our heroes it is a small price to pay to live on the American dream and create freedom for ourselves and our families.

What can you do to continue to pay it forward and perpetuate the American dream and freedom?    Now is your time to step forward and take responsibility just like our forefathers of this great nation did and create a bright future for our children and children’s children.

Let’s celebrate this day in gratitude for the freedom we have! Have a wonderful day!!!

Life is a Highway

May 29, 2011

Life is like a highway. Do you know where you are going? How fast or slow are you travelling? Are you taking the scenic route or just want to get to the destination? Life is like a highway and the journey can be a glorious adventure or a huge madding traffic jam. Obstacles will be unavoidable but we don’t need to wind up on a dead end street. Are you paying attention to your surroundings or oblivious to the other vehicles on the road? How about your vehicle is it in good working order or are you ignoring any warning signs that might be flashing, trying to get your attention.

You see the highway is like your life and the vehicle is your body. Do you have a road map for your life? Are you enjoying your journey? Are you aware of what is going on around you in your life? Will you wind up, stuck, lost, and confused, on a one way street?

Sometimes we need to stop, re evaluate were we are, take a look around and map out a plan for our journey. The quality of our life will be determined by the quality of the questions we ask ourselves.

Life is like a highway, and the future is always the view ahead of us. The rear view mirrors as well as the side mirrors are there to remind us to look around and be hide has occasionally so that we stay clear of anything that will cause an accident. To stay clear of anything on the road, be aware of your surroundings. Pay attention, and enjoy the journey on your highway of life!

Letting Go

May 22, 2011

I have had to let go of many things in my life. I have had to let go of many relationships, and many old limiting beliefs. Change is inevitable, it is a constant, but growth is optional. I know when it is time to let go and let God. I get a pulling in my gut. I feel it right there in the center of my stomach, like a big knot that needs to be untangled. For me it is the tug of war between allowing letting go to my higher power or trying hard to have it my way.  It is visceral. When I chose the later, life becomes much more of a struggle for me. This is the path of lest resistance. It is what appears to be the easy way out and a huge price to pay will result from that choice.

When I allow what seems the harder chose of letting go, I know that I am moving in a healthy, progressive and wiser direction. This is where the magic happens. This is where synchronicity begins. The people you need to meet will appear. The circumstances that need to show up will. The opportunities for your growth begin to happen. Your life will begin to unfold and open like a beautiful rose, and you will attract everything necessary for the fulfillment of your desires.

Learn to trust in a higher power and let go. The universe will reveal her secrets to you when you allow your authentic self to be revealed to the world.

Observation is Strength

May 15, 2011

I have come to realize that observation is strength and judgment is weakness.  I love to people watch that is I love to just sit in a public place and watch people. I observe their appearance, their interaction with who they might be with, their reaction to their surroundings and anything else that might be happening. I try to not judge but rather just observe their behaviors.  You can tell so much about people by just observing them.

You can observe if they are nervous, relaxed, angry, or happy, in a rush and any array of human psychological characteristics. The minute I begin to put prejudge into the equation I am losing power.

If I am willing to stay open, even if it means challenging my preconceived notion of the way I believe things should be, the freedom to explore the possibilities will reveal themselves to me through observation.

We are all different yet very much the same. We are all individuals yet all really just one, living together on this beautiful planet. If I judge anyone, I am judging myself. If I am pointing my finger at you, three are pointing back at me. To understand myself I must understand you. To observe anyone is to learn more about me.

I am the ultimate observer influencing my surroundings and creating my world through the lens of my perception.

Take a Breath

May 8, 2011

Take a breath! That is what people tell you to do when you are uptight and tense. I have really been focusing on my breath lately and I feel so much more relaxed when I consciously focus on my breathing.  Taking deep slow and steady breaths allows me to keep my mind more balanced and my body at ease rather than dis-ease.  Everything has a rhythm, like the ebb and the flow of the oceans, and the inhale and the exhale of the breath.

Learning to breathe properly has made all the difference in how I view stressful situations.  Instead of my stomach being in knots, and my shoulders up to my ears, I just take a few deep oxytocin  (the love hormone) breaths and release it with a haaa sound, and immediately I feel calm. It takes me out of fight or flight and in to tend and befriend. It is so good!

So take a breath, and allow the gift of being alive fill you up right down into your soul.

From our first breath to our very last breath we are given a life to live and a song to sing so let us all join in on the harmony with a deep breath!

Laughter is Good Medicine

May 1, 2011

I’ve hear it said that the day we have a good laugh at our self is the day we grow up. Lighten up! I know I can take myself way too seriously. Yes, there are times when shit happens!  Lately lots of it has been happening to me, but I know that if I lighten up and let go and trust that all is for my higher good, the lesson of what I need to learn will be revealed to me.

Laughter is great medicine. There have been many studies were cancer patients who watched funny movies and laughed a lot had stronger immune systems then those that toke things more seriously. It feels good to laugh, to jump for joy! To lighten up is to become lighter, to become enlightened, and to become one with spirit or your higher self.

Even smiling is known to change the chemistry in the brain and increase endorphins (the feel good hormone). So I consciously turn my frown upside down.

So connect with your higher self and lighten up. Laugh more, love more, and dream with your eyes wide open. Rejoice in the slender of life that is so abundant and is laughing all the time.  Hey have you heard of a good joke lately?
