Be yourself! A flock of sheep, a herd of cows, a school of fish, these are what lower animals do. Do we do that too? Mass consciousness is a very low level of awareness. The newspapers, TV, radio and other media are huge influences in our lives. Who are we listening to and why?
From the time we are in school we are taught to conform. Children are so afraid to be themselves and if they are different they get bullied. They dress alike, act alike, listen to the same music and so forth. We are being categorized, classified, and labeled. We are put on meds to conform, and brain washed to believe there is something wrong with us if we don’t.
Be yourself! Think for yourself! Don’t just follow the crowd; it will take you on the path of mediocrity. Strive for excellence. Stand out and live from the top of the mountain. People say it is lonely at the top, well I say the view is spectacular and the climb is exhilarating!

Love yourself first! The best relationship is the one you have with yourself. We come into this world alone and will leave that way too. I have become my own best friend. I am very comfortable, dining with myself, going to the movies by myself and entertaining myself. This doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy good company and other people, it means I am not insecure about doing things solo. I love people and need healthy people in my life; however I have grown to love myself. I understand that life is about self discovery and knowing who I am.
If I don’t understand myself, I will never really know anyone else. Who are you? Are you comfortable in your own skin? Are you secure with yourself? The relationship we have with our self is the most important one we will ever have. We will never have healthy relationships with anyone else until we understand and accept ourselves fully. Notice the word HEALTHY!!!
Take time each day to read something uplifting and thought provoking, meditating, spending time with yourself and you alone in silence. Listen to your thoughts, write, dance, play music, or do anything that assists you in the greatest journey you will ever take, the one within your heart! Here’s to your most incredible adventure, YOU!!!!

I just came home after visiting a friend in the hospital in the ICU. ICU is short for intensive care unit. He was hooked up to every device imaginable and unimaginable. There were so many machines and gadgets keeping him alive that I wondered at the marvel of the human body.
I know that our body always tries to achieve homeostasis. The dictionary describes this as:
The tendency of a system, especially the physiological system of higher animals, to maintain internal stability, owing to the coordinated response of its parts to any situation or stimulus that would tend to disturb its normal condition or function.
Psychology . a state of psychological equilibrium obtained when tension or a drive has been reduced or eliminated.
I thank God for the wonders and miracles that are helping people live while their bodies are not able to function on their own and achieve this homeostasis. I also feel that life is a precious gift and we should be able to return home if and when our bodies no longer can function on its own. It is a fine line between life and death. At what point do we let go or continue to let these machines assist us in living? Is it living or existing? I pray that my friend will get better. These are the days of miracles and wonders.

Thinking is the highest function we are capable of. It distinguishes us from any other animal. James Allen a philosopher from the early 1900’s said “Mind is the master power that molds and makes
And man is mind,
And the more he takes the tool of thought
And shapes it to his will
Brings forth a thousand joys or a thousand ills,
He thinks in secret
and it comes to pass,
Environment is but his looking glass.”
In his book As a Man Thinketh, he explains in detail the process of thinking.
He also said “Until thought is linked with purpose there is no intelligent accomplishment.”
We think about 600,000 thoughts a day. Our minds are busy with stuff. Let’s give ourselves a tune up and think higher. Let’s keep our thoughts linked to our purpose so that we can create a thousand joys. If we do this collectively imagine what kind of world we will be living in.
Think about it!

Today is a new day, and we have just started a New Year. This is a new beginning. Actually every day is a new beginning. We can wake up and say good morning God or good God it’s morning. How do you want to begin your day? How do you want to begin your new life?
Today is a new beginning. You can begin 2012 with a fresh new wonderful outlook. It’s up to you to decide right now what you want to create. Take the lid off your imagination and let it soar. Look around and take inventory of all the good that is in your life already. Then, think of how your life could be if you decided to be, do, and have all the things that you wanted. Allow that feeling to take hold inside of you. See yourself doing the things you dream about. Hear the sounds that are cascading all around you. Let your senses get totally involved as if you’re already living in this picture. Doesn’t that feel good? Go for it! This is a new beginning; this is the age of consciousness. Wake up from the illusion that has kept you captive for so long and dare to live the life you can imagine. Be the star in your own life. Begin now! You can be anything you want to be.
So don’t just watch your life go by on the side lines, write the script, direct, produce and star in the blockbuster; Your Life Story. Just do it!!!
