Repetition

February 29, 2012

Repetition is the first law of learning. Remember when you were a child and were learning to write, read or tie your shoes? You had to do  it over and over and over again. Any one who has mastered their craft, has repeatedly gone over their performance. It is the key to mastery. When baseball players are in the minors they practice hitting the ball, catching and running the bases. When they reach the majors they practice, hitting the ball, catching and running the bases. Nothing new, just repetition. In the movie The Karate Kid, the handy man/martial arts master agreed to teach a young boy this lesson. Wax on, wax off, over and over and over again. The masters make it look so easy and flawless.
Watch an ice skater, or basketball player who are performing with ease and grace. All they did was practice and repetition of their art form.
You can become the master of your life and live each day with peace, serenity and ease. Just like in the movie Ground Hog Day were Phil Connors the weatherman is reliving the same day over and over again. Each day we are given the opportunity to do it over again. Repetition is the first law of learning, so take this day and keep it simple.
Wax on, wax off.

Good News!

February 22, 2012

Did you hear the good news? We often hear stories about someone that first appears good or bad and later the story changes. You see, life is about change, the ebb and flow of it. Here is a story that I heard that puts it into prospective.

Once upon a time there was a man, his wife and their one teenage son living happily in a small village. One day a wild horse showed up out of nowhere. The neighbors said, what good news, now you have 2 horses to help you till your land. The Man said we shall see.

Shortly after, the teenage son got on the new horse to tame her, but the mare kicked him off, and the son broke his leg.  The neighbors said, oh what bad news, your only son cannot work with you, so you will be short handed. The man said, we shall see.

Shortly after that, a war broke out in a nearby village and all the young men were called to fight in the battle, however this young man could not go because of his broken leg. The neighbors once again said, oh what good news you have, you are so lucky that your son does not have to go and fight.

Once again the man said we shall see.

The morale of the story is life changes. What appears to be good news later is not so good and vice versa. There is an ebb and flow to everything. Find the peace within and everything is good news.

God is good all the time!!!

Win From Within

February 15, 2012

I recently saw a commercial that was promoting sportsmanship from the prospective of win from with. I thought it was awesome! What a great message, to bring forward.  Competition has always been about being better than the next guy. Of course we strive to always be better, however if we can shift the focus to competing from with in, instead of with out, we will reach heights greater than we all have imagined.
Rodger Banister ran the mile in under 4 minutes when everyone told him it could not be done. He did not let that stop him. He wanted to win from within, so he achieved something that others said was impossible. How can you win from within and break your own records? When others say it can’t be done, what are you willing to do to prove it can?
We were raised to believe that, when I see it, I will l believe it.
The truth is when you believe it then you will see it!
So win from within and then you will see!

A Healing Crisis

February 8, 2012

In nature a healing crisis is needed in order to obtain a new way of being healthy. Our bodies are designed to detoxify and bring out to the surface all the impurities that are deep within us. Our cells have memory and we must let go of the sickness for true healing to occur. Our subconscious minds store all the memories of past experiences and controls ever part of our bodies. Our heart rate, digestion, circulation, ever thing!!!
A healing crisis can also occur in other areas in our lives too, such as relationships, financial, career and spiritual.  I believe we are living in a time that is unprecedented in having a healing crisis in one area or another. The world is in a healing crisis. It is purging from the inside out. This is so necessary in order to heal. Although it appears things look gray and dismal, the truth is, this is exactly what needs to occur for a new world to emerge. Individually and collectively we need to look within ourselves and uproot the parts of our storied memories that are holding us back, keeping us in bondage. It is uncomfortable to shed our skin and morph into some one entirely new. Just like a butterfly that was once a caterpillar. Begin your healing crisis now and learn to fly!!
As Saint Francis Assisi said
“It is dying to the self that we are born to eternal life.”
