Finding the Joy in Every Moment

Far too many people put off joy for when the circumstances are just right. I hear people say things like, when I’m in the right relationship, then I’ll be happy. Or when I have the right job, or the money, car, education or whatever, then I will allow myself to feel good.  All those things are wonderful, however if we don’t feel joy and happiness now, all those other things will just fill our joy cup temporarily and we will be seeking the next thing to fill the void that is missing from our life. Find the joy in the moment. That is where the magic is. Being happy for no reason other than appreciating life is true happiness. Far too many people worry themselves to death. Worry, only creates anxiety and dis-ease. It never solved any problem and it never will.

There is a story by the Nanticoke Indian Tribe entitled;
The Tale of the two Wolves

One evening, an elderly Cherokee brave told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside of people.

He said, “My son, the battle is between two wolves inside us all.

One is evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.

The other is good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith.”

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather:

“Which wolf wins?”

The old Cherokee simply replied, “The one that you feed.”

We all have a choice. What are you focusing on? Your energy goes, where your attention flows.  Feed the joy!
