I have failed at so many things that you would think I would be stuck, sad and resentful! However, I am just the opposite. I look at the bigger picture. I look at it as failing forward. I keep moving forward until I reach a breakthrough.
You see, if your not failing, you’re probably not really moving forward. You must use adversity to improve yourself and climb higher. If your mind is fixed and inflexible you won’t even try, but if your open to growing, you will try something even if it doesn’t work out.
Sara Blakely became the youngest self made billionaire by her drive and determination to fail forward. She was encouraged as a young girl to try new things, and if she failed
( which was often) was congratulated for putting in the effort. If we can learn by her example we would all develop the growth mindset instead of the fixed one.
You only fail when you give up, so keep going!

We are all powerful creators and when we set our intention on what we want to create we can manifest that desire. Yesterday, I was on a plane flying home from California and I had such an enjoyable conversation with the person sitting next to me. We made a real connection. My intention before boarding the plane was to sit next to someone who was open for conversation and friendly. Well, I definitely got what I asked for. It was a small intention, however if it turned out that the person was not friendly, well it would have been a whole other experience. Then again, I wanted to set another intention for my train ride home from the airport.I wanted to met a new person and share our contact information. You know what? Presto, it happened. I met a beautiful woman from Panama who was looking for help getting on the correct train and was a little afraid of asking anyone. She approached me, and soon we were talking and sharing things about our family, country and other things. We exchanged contact information too! Our intentions create our reality. What intention do you have for your day? Before getting out of bed, declare that this will be a good day and wonderful things are coming your way. Then go about your day and notice what happens. Set the intention before you do anything and marvelous things await you…

There are millions of people every day, who play the lottery, hoping to win the big prize. The bigger the numbers get, the more people want to win. You got to be in it to win it!According to lottery officials the odds of winning a big windfall of about $540 million are 1 in $176 million. These are not very good odds. However, people still play, believing that they can beat the odds. Hey, someones got to win. There is also some pretty grim stories of peoples lives taking a turn for the worst when they did win. Five years after winning a large sum of money, most people filled for bankruptcy. Not only did they file for bankruptcy, many turned to gambling and drug addiction, went through divorce, committed suicide and murder. You sure do have to be in it to win it!
How about investing in yourself, instead? Set yourself some worthy goals. All you need is a pen, a sheet of paper and some time every day to write and think about what you really want. Then see yourself already in possession of those goals. You see, it’s not the goals themselves that will bring you success, it’s who you are becoming as you work towards them. They are lasting.
So, go ahead, wait on that long line and invest in a lottery ticket. If you want fleeting wealth, then believe in the slogan, you got to be in it to win it. Or, put your money in yourself for lasting wealth, and write a goal, that’s good for your soul.

In life, lots of people know what to do, but few people actually do what they know. Most people know what foods are healthy and what foods aren’t good for them. So why do people eat foods that they know are not good for them? Most people know that smoking isn’t good for them. So why do people smoke? Most people know that exercise is a healthy regime to maintain their bodies health. So why don’t people do it? This list could go on and on, but you get the point. Do you do, what you know?People know what to do, but few people actually do what they know. If you are not in alignment with your body, mind, and spirit, you will be guided by your emotions, which will always steer you down the path of least resistance. You must be consciously aware of your choices, and disciple yourself to choose what you already know is best for you. So, you can do what most people know, and don’t do, or you can do what you know, and be healthy, and empowered. The choice is yours.

I just love being around people who inspire me. People who are upbeat, positive, and responsible. People who have been through adversity, however choose to overcome their challenges. Last night, I attended my toastmasters meeting and the members are people who inspire. One woman, gave her icebreaker speech that was so touching, personal, and inspirational, that you felt like you were right there, in her story. Wow. it was so good. That’s how we connect through the heart with compassion.
Another gentleman, gave an advance speech about, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. He gave us all hand-outs on “20 Things Boys Can Do to Become Men”, by Kareem Abdul Jabbar. I learned so much about this great sports figure and man that it inspired me to want to be a better person. That’s what people who inspire, do. So, who are you associating with? Do you feel good around them or are they draining you of your vital life giving energy. See, you become who you associate with. I want to be a better person. When I am around people who are uplifting, positive, and responsible, I’m uplifted. Being around people who are being reactive, and playing the victim, is not healthy. The great thing is you can choose who you want to be around. I choose to inspire others so I hang with those same people. Choose wisely!

We all know the importance of taking care of our bodies, or at least I hope we do. Having a good workout to build up our muscles and keep strong to maintain a healthy body is so important to stay healthy. Stretching and keeping limber is also vital for our bodies health. However if you are not working out your mental muscles, you probably have weak physical ones too. It all starts with a mind that is disciplined. Building up your mental muscles is the only way you will achieve your goals. There are six mental muscles. They can be developed through practice, just like good body work out. Hiring a life coach is like a personal trainer for your mind. Some times you need a jump-start to motivate you.
All smart people have coaches to help them move forward and advance in a positive way. We are advisers, keep you focused, and encourage you reach higher.
