“A mind that is stretched by a new experience can never go back to its old dimensions.”
Oliver Wendell Homes Jr.
Iv’e been travelling a lot in the past few months. Back in October, I went to Munich Germany for my moms 90th Birthday party. It was so much fun. She was born there but lives in New York now. I’ve been to Germany countless times, however, each and every time I go is a new experience.
Then in November I was visiting my daughter in Palm Springs, California.
Wow, we hiked Joshua Tree National Park and Andreas Canyon. It was incredible. I love to travel and have been since I was practically born. Lately I had an opportunity to take a few trips back to back and boy did I take advantage of it. In January I went to Johannesburg South Africa to visit a friend and then off to Cape Town. It was a long flight, but well worth it. Such beautiful vistas, beaches and nature. Getting to emerge into the culture is absolutely fabulous. Having conversations with people and finding out about who they are and their family stories and history is transforming.
Then a few weeks later, Cuba! I just couldn’t get enough! The culture, history, people, architecture, music, beaches, people, cigars and so much more. This was one of the most unique trips I ever took. Truly a place that is etched in my heart and soul forever.
Traveling allows you to broaden your view and perspective of life. It opens up opportunities, creates ideas and new friendships. This world is so beautiful. I am blessed and grateful to be able to expand my mind, commune with others so that I can share the experience with you. If you get the opportunity to travel, take it. We are all time travelers on this blue Earth, so venture out and see what might be awaiting you.

What’s the news of the day, good neighbor I pray. They say the balloon has gone up to the moon.
Fake news, it’s every where these days. You can tweet false information and it will spread like wild fire! Fad diets, the newest health craze, and so much propaganda to sell you something. Power, money and greed have become the mega-god. Someone is trying to sell or convince you of something every day. We have the ability to create images, manipulate pictures, distort documents, statements and so much more.
So how will you know if something is real or fake? You don’t unless you look deeper into the source from where it is coming from. You can no longer believe everything you see, read or hear at face value. You have to double click and research on your own, otherwise you will be a part of the problem in spreading this fake news. Think before you click and share. Let’s face it, we are all over loaded with too much information. The truth has to be highly guarded and valued since scams and corruption is all too prevalent. It seems like everything in the media has a spin on it. If you listen to one news station they tell you their view point. Then you listen to another and they have a completely different take on the same subject. Social media is a whole new way of spreading fake news. Your head can spin around and do a few 360’s before you realize it’s all fake. Truth and trust is more important than ever these days. Do your do diligence and resource the source of where the information you are receiving is coming from. Double click and go deeper into the subject matter before this fake news becomes dangerously real. It not only hurts people, but relationships, cultures, society and humanity. Stay curious!

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see the tension that people are feeling around the world. Just turn on the TV, radio, internet or any devise and you will be hooked into a world that seems to have gone mad! I get phone calls from distressed people almost daily. We all want relief from our depression, anxiety, stress, and other maladies that are causing us to feel bad. Too many people think that a pill will cure their ill, but in many cases this is causing more of a problem. You just want these yucky feeling to go away. I know, I’ve been there. I know what depression, anxiety and stress feel like. It’s a state of mind that is trapping you into patterns of familiarity. To change requires a willingness to surrender to the familiar and venture into the unknown territory of what could be. It is the willingness to create new patterns of hope, possibilities and expansion.
If you can wonder, imagine and aspire to something greater than the darkness that seems to loom over you, you can then begin to get an inkling of what enlightenment can feel like. After all, enlightenment is a only state of being. The state of depression is dark and dense. Enlightenment is allowing the light to shine into and through you. But, it only comes when you are willing to do the work. You’ve got to put in the time and effort! Change, is possibilities. Before enlightenment, you chop wood and carry water. After enlightenment you chop wood and carry water.

“Life is fragile. We’re not guaranteed a tomorrow so give it everything you’ve got.”
This really hit home when I heard the news about Kobe Bryant, his 13-year-old daughter and 7 other people who were tragically killed in a helicopter accident. Then, the very next day was the Holocaust Remembrance Day, which is near and dear to my heart because both my parents were survivors of this horrific time in history, where many members of my family were killed, along with countless others.
It really made me think of how life isn’t guaranteed to anyone and how we must embrace this precious gift. (That’s why they call it the present)
Then last week, I had an MRI scan on my brain which showed a 5-centimeter cyst in my frontal lobe. It is benign; however, it is something that needs to be closely watched to make sure it doesn’t grow or interfere with my cognitive and motor functions.
The message was loud and clear! Live my best life now! Don’t wait until tomorrow to begin doing what brings you joy. Love your life, give it your all and don’t be afraid to express your dreams. Work hard, play more, be kind, laugh lots and most of all create. Start right now to create your best life. We’re here for such a brief time, so let’s make the most of it.

” Every time I sit down to play, I learn something new.”
The word play, has such a light and fun vibe when you say the word. As apposed to the word work, which has a much more serious connotation behind its energy. Children love to play and are able to take the simplest of objects, use their imaginations and make it into something totally different. Then we go to school and the playing stops.
What happens? Playing is essential to learning. If you are in an environment where there is stress, tension, pressure or any sort of feeling that isn’t relaxed your ability to learn is lessened. Neuro-science has shown that when your brain senses that it isn’t safe you can not be in a creative mind-set. It is actually in a survival one. Once you don’t feel safe, there is no trust, and where there is no trust, you shut down.
Playing is essential to learning. As adults, we go to work. We don’t say we go to play. Why do we say we play an instrument, or we play sports, rather than work a violin, or work at baseball? What if you started playing more? What if you started having more fun? What if you started using your imagination and played with ideas to create something new?
The more we bring back the arts in school, in our places of work and in our homes, the more we can learn, and the more we learn, the more fun we have, and the more fun we have the more peaceful we become. Who’s ready to play?

Speak up, because the day you don’t speak up for the things that matter to you is the day your freedom truly ends.
What would you do if you witnessed something that you knew was unethical, immoral, corrupt or unjust? It’s a big question. What would you do if you worked for a company that you knew was participating in shady affairs or was discriminating someone? Would you stay for the security of a pay check or would you speak up and risk being fired? My grandmother told me a story of when she was a young woman living in Munich during the war. She was catholic but against the Third Reich. The typical greeting was to extend and raise up your arm and say heil hitler. She didn’t do that, but spit on the ground instead. By the sheer grace of G-d she wasn’t killed. My great grandmother hid many people in her home who would have been taken off to a concentration camp too.
I often ask myself this question. I don’t thing I could live with myself if I didn’t speak up against injustice. If you keep silent and turn away from speaking up about something you know isn’t moral, then we all suffer the consequences in the long run. It’s not a popular thing to do. It takes tremendous self confidence and conviction to speak up against a system that has been getting away with corruption.
Whether it’s something big, like going against a company like Monsanto that produces the carcinogenic product roundup or someone being harassed who doesn’t have the means to defend themselves in your place of employment, speaking up is the ethical thing to do. If you want your children to live in a harmonious, honest and free culture, use your voice to speak up. It’s that important.

Discipline is being able to force yourself to do something in spite of how you feel over and over and over until it becomes a habit.
The word discipline comes from the Latin word discipulus meaning “student”. Or you can say to be a learner. In other words having self discipline in being a good student who wants to learn. It is a high level of awareness to give yourself a command and follow through with it. If you want to be a great musician, you have to practice playing your instrument every day for hours. If you want to be a great athlete you have to train your mind and body every day, in spite of how tired or achy you feel. This goes for anything you desire to master.
This year my word that I am giving my attention to is FOCUS. I will discipline myself to focus on the things I desire to manifest into my life in a relaxed state of mind. I say relaxed because if I try to force myself to do this in a tense way, I am just sabotaging my efforts. What is it that you really want to create in your life for 2020? With discipline, you can make it happen. Hire a coach, get an accountability partner and practice, practice practice!
Be a good learner, be disciplined!

Happy New Year!
What an exciting time to be alive. Never has humanity witnessed so much change. We truly are on the cutting edge of a quantum leap in evolution. However, for you to thrive in 2020, you must have a clear vision on what you want to create and amplitude that picture with an elevated emotion.
The best way to do this, is to write down what it is you want to create and meditate on it in a relaxed state. Choose words and pictures that have a vibrational match to your vision and abracadabra watch what happens.
The words you speak and write are very powerful. It’s like magic. If you want to create something wonderful for 2020, be mindful of the words you use and the emotion behind them. You are literally creating as you speak. What do you want to bring into your life? Good health, happiness, joy, prosperity, friendship, love and all good things are all possible. Keeping your focus on what you desire and giving energy to positive words, thoughts, feelings and actions will manifest your desires.
Every year, I have a single word that I use as my guiding light. This year it is FOCUS. For me this signifies concentration on my purpose and life’s work. It will allow me to be more present in everything I do and everyone I am with. To give my full attention on being in the now. What is your word? What word describes what you want to create for 2020?
That one word can open worlds you never knew existed if you follow your heart and allow it to guide you. Maybe it’s love, abundance, joy, passion or whatever you choose, but live every day with that word being the center point in which you dedicate everything you do. So, as the world turns another year into the future, you too can turn your attention and focus on your best year. Together, each and everyone of us can create a more peaceful, loving and healthier world if we focus on manifesting it and create it through our words. Use them wisely.
All the very best,

What the world needs now is more kindness, compassion and peace.
Wishing everyone a most joyous, peaceful and loving Holiday.
Prayer of St Francis
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace;
where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master,
grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood, as to understand;
to be loved, as to love;
for it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life.
