Risk Being Alive!

“Life should be a daring adventure or nothing at all.”

Helen Keller

I love watching movies. Old movies that is. I am fascinated with movies that were made in the 40’s and 50’s. I find that most of them were done so well. The script, acting, cinematography, and production were first class. I do like some of the movies made today but I don’t go out of my way to watch them, so when I’m on a plane, I get a chance to catch up on the new releases. On my way home from Australia last month, I got caught up. One of the movies I watched was a National Geographic Movie, Free Solo.  OMG, it was amazing. It made me think of what it means to be alive.  To live your life like you were on the edge of life or death, literally.

It made me think of what the meaning of life really is and what is it that holds us back from living it full out. I mean, I don’t have the calling to scale mountains like Alex Honnold, but I do know my purpose and have a desire to reach more people through coaching because I love my work and I know it works. It made me think of what I need to do to become better, more focused and give it my all.

If you have a desire inside you, really ask yourself, what are you willing to do, to give up and practice to become your best? To live fully and be alive! Go for it. Reach inside of yourself for the answers. Stir up that juice that is calling you to something greater. Go watch the movie, maybe it will inspire you as it did me. You have greatness in you. What is calling you? Go for it! Seek it and you shall find! Risk Being Alive!

Get Lost!

“Life should be a glorious adventure or nothing at all.” Helen Keller

Recently I found myself getting lost upstate will hiking alone in the woods. I lost my sense of direction and wasn’t sure were I was and how I was going to find my way back out. I didn’t have my handy dandy cell phone with the navigation to help me. I was lost! After gaining my composure I sat down to try to orient myself. So many questions about my life came up for me. After about three hours, other hikers came walking by. They lead the way out.

getting lostAfter I got back to my camp site, I thought about how I found myself by getting lost. I realized that not knowing can be a great way to discover hidden emotions, strengths and fears that would have never come up if I didn’t get lost.  After calming my mind, I realized so many things about who I am and how I respond to circumstances that I never would have known about myself if I didn’t get lost.

My younger daughter, just traveled alone cross country in your tiny home and had the most glorious adventure. Some of the pictures from the places she explored where absolutely incredible! Ever day was a new discovery. A journey into the unknown. You can follow her adventures on Instagram (ramblinanne).

Life is either a great adventure or nothing. Helen Keller

adventure

When was the last time you allowed yourself to take an adventure? Nature never places it safe! You are here to experience the magnificence of everything life has to offer. Most people get trapped in the hum-drum routine of every day life. Me included!

I was having lunch with a girlfriend today and I was telling her of an opportunity I was invited to participate on. It meant getting out of my routine for a week to fly out to Albuquerque New Mexico, and drive to Sedona Arizona to film a movie. Wow! I feel this tug to go and yet my obligations here are holding me back. My friend said go! All that stuff will be here when you get back. She just got out of the hospital with a severe case of Kidney stones in which her body became septic. She made a great point to let me know that life is short and live it to its fullness.

So, I’m going to make it happen. I love the calling of adventure and when it knocks I answer!

Are you ready to step outside your comfort zone and allow a glorious adventure in?

Having a Glorious Adventure

March 24, 2015

On the first day of spring here in New York, it was a cold snowy day. It was also a very magical day. There was a solar eclipse, solar flares, a new moon and the spring equinox, and on top of all that it was snowing! The last thing I wanted to do was to leave the warmth of my cozy home and venture out on a train into the city, but that is just what I did. I was invited to a spiritual happy hour by a very lovely young lady who I recently met. It was awesome. Only two other people showed up, however these people were so inspiring and delightful that it changed me forever. Spiritual happy hour was created by this woman who wanted to offer a sacred space to share, explore, and manifest our deep desires. What better time to do this then on the spring equinox, when things are shifting and emerging from the slumber of winter. The energy was ripe for it. The two other woman who were present had such vibrant energy, that it was contagious. One of them just quite her corporate job and in her terms described it as funemployment! How cool is that! She was heading off to Bali for a Goddess retreat and then, going to relocate to California. I asked if she knew anyone there or had a job lined up. She replied, no, you just have to take big risks in life if you want things to be different for yourself. Wow, I was so inspired. You never know who you are going to meet when you allow yourself to be open to possibilities. I changed that evening. A part of me was able to release some past conditioning and feel lighter. I booked a trip to Thailand the following day and allowing the universe to flow freely through me. At any time you too can be changed in a moment. That’s why we are here, to experience life. Helen Keller said, “Life is a glorious adventure, or nothing at all.” Make it a Glorious adventure.
