Finding A Conclusion to My Confusion

May 17, 2018

“The most important physiological discovery of the century is the discovery of the self image.”     Maxwell Maltz

Who really are you? What are your beliefs about yourself? We are the person we believe ourselves to be. Henry Ford said,” If you think you can’t do something you’re right, If you think you can, you’re right too.”

Maxwell Maltz was a renowned plastic surgeon back in the 1930’s and 1940’s.  He saw that after removing scars and preforming other procedures on peoples faces to improve their appearance, they still didn’t feel any better about themselves.  He found this remarkable and later went on to write a book Psycho-Cybernetics, were he introduced his idea that a person must have an accurate and positive view of themselves before setting goals; otherwise they will get stuck in a continuing pattern of limiting beliefs.

If ones self image is unhealthy or faulty, everything he or she does will end up in failure. A healthy self image is the key to your success.

The good news is you can change your self image through awareness, study, understanding and diligently applying the principles to become someone new. If you want a new personal reality, you need to create a new personality.

If you want more success, if you want to aspire higher, or if you just want to feel better about YOU, reach out. It will be a grand step in developing an outstanding self image.

Leave a Great First Impression

April 12, 2016

observationI feel our eyes can be both a blessing and a curse. We all want to leave a great first impression with others when we are going on a job interview, going on a first date or any encounter that will influence our presence. How well we look, speak and act can either leave people thinking highly of us or not. However, sometimes our eyes can deceive us. We can be quick to judge and see only what we perceive as faults in someones appearance.

Observations leaves room for looking deeper and beyond the outward appearance.   We are already closing ourselves off to someone when we judge how they look. If we were visual impaired, what would be the first impression then? Would we listen with keen ears to hear their qualifications and  how well they are a match with your company?  Would  you be more aware of how you feel around their presence? What would be the guiding light to help determine if someone is leaving a great first impression? The gift of sight is a marvelous blessing, however we must use this gift wisely and not judge someone strictly on outward appearances. Their energy, habits, values and actions need to speak louder than their looks. Leaving a great first impression is important but do not overlook the person hiding under the mask. Observation is strength and judgement is weakness. Do not let your eyes deceive you.
