Last week I was in Germany celebrating my Mom’s 90th Birthday. It was a great celebration and it was a total surprise to her. People came from all corners of the globe. However, it could have turned out to be a bummer for me since I lost my pocketbook with my passport, wallet, money, credit cards, license and all my identification. I left it on the platform train station seat in Frankfurt. I already boarded the train to Munich when I discovered it missing. Yikes!
How on earth I did that, I really couldn’t say. What I do know is that I had to stay focused and sharp if I wanted to get it back. So, I got off at the next station, took a local train back to Frankfurt and after several attempts to locate it, I went to the information booth and someone had found it and brought it there. OMG, I was so relieved. All my things were still in it!
Although I was stressed and anxious, I kept my mind on my bag and saw it in my minds eye back in my possession. Not for a second would I entertain the thought of not getting it back. Focus on the outcome, not the obstacle..
It is so important to keep your mind sharp and focused on the task ahead. When you’re under stress the best thing you can do is take deep breaths in and out, and keep your thoughts focused on the best possible outcome.
Also, the lesson I learned was I am going use a shoulder wrap to keep my passport and important things in, and stay focused and breath! There’s always a lesson to learn!
Did you ever feel like you have too much on your plate! That you have so much going on that you just don’t know how you’re going to get it all done?
I was on vacation for 10 days and when I returned home, it seems like I can’t catch up to all the things that are on my to do list. Yikes! That feeling of being overwhelmed can creep right into my brain and disturb my peace of mind.
Thank God I meditate, take great care of my health, eat well, dance, walk, breath, read inspirational books, stay connected to positive people and journal. If I didn’t do these practices every day, I would loss it. Really, there is way too much to keep up with. A day at a time or a minute at a time, sometimes. I know if I try to force things to happen, I’m working too hard. That is why staying connected to a higher consciousness, call it God, infinite intelligence or what you want is oh so vital.
It took many years to feel this peace but once you establish the habit, wow, it is my savior.
So, if you feel overwhelmed with too many things on your plate. Pause, take a few deep breaths and relax. Then, surrender it all. Let it all go. It will all get done. And if it doesn’t tomorrow is another day. Find your joy in every moment! It’s there if you look for it!
One of the best pieces of advice I ever got was from a horse master. “Its not stress that kills us, it is our reaction to it.”
Stress, it is simply unavoidable, right? I mean it seems like every day there is something that can take you on a journey that disrupts your serenity. Just yesterday, I was working on a power point presentation for a client who needed to insert some videos into it. Now I don’t normally do this sort of thing, however, I thought I would help him out. Yikes, it took me on a road to oblivion, but, I did get it done. Then, I came home to find that my older daughter didn’t clean out the garage like she promised. At this point, I needed to take some deep breaths take a walk, and shake of the frustration of the day. Whew, some days are like this.
What takes you over the edge? I know when I get stressed, the best thing for me to do is to do something physical to release the tension in my body, because it becomes physiological. In other words, my bodies functions get compromised and it goes into survival mode, changing the way my organs & cells respond. It does this so fast that if I don’t change my energy, over time, this can become a repetitive pattern causing all sorts of negative reaction to occur.
So, take a walk, go to a yoga class, dance or take a bike ride. Find something that brings joy to your day.Change the energy before it gets locked into your physiology. Go from stressed to blessed, it feels so much better!
The heart is the perfection of the whole organism. Therefore, the principles of the power of perception and the soul’s ability to nourish itself must lie in the heart.

Stress, anxiety, frustration, overwhelm and dis-ease are at an all time high. Life is moving so fast and change is happening so rapidly that if you don’t have the tools, strategies and techniques to navigate through all the uncertainty you will wind up feeling totally out of balance. Your heart is more than an amazing pump circulating blood throughout your body. We have discovered that it is a brain that sends signals to your head letting you know when you are out of alignment by increasing your heart beat, raising your blood pressure and downloading stress hormones that flood your body producing all kinds of negative feelings, thoughts and toxins.
90-95% of all illnesses are stress related. That’s HUGE!!! Really, I can feel when I am getting out of my natural rhythm of joy and happiness. I’m sure you can too. Allow your heart to open. Take some deep slow breaths and slow down. Focus on someone you love and you will begin to sense your heart and mind getting into a coherent state. Practice this often. The more you do the more joy and health you will bring into your life.
“You have to count on living every single day in a way you believe will make you feel good about your life…”
Jane Seymour
How many times to we compromise our happiness for someone else? We give our energy away to make other people happy or do things that zaps our precious life. Then at the end of the day we are feeling exhausted, angry or depressed.
That was my modus operandi for many years until I became aware that I was responsible for my own happiness and joy. I was actually teaching people how to treat me. I was a people pleaser.
We all have so much energy, and if you are giving it away to easily, like money you will be broke. You will become down and out and wonder why your feeling so awful.
True happiness and joy come from honoring your values and what makes you feel good. Be good to yourself. If you give yourself away to easily not only do you feel bad but your no good for anyone else either!
Take a few minutes every day and connect with yourself. Breathe! Do something everyday that makes you feel good! Take a walk, listen to something inspirational or what ever that thing is that lifts you up and feels good.

Breath. So many people are not aware of how their breath affects every function in their body. By learning a few techniques, you can learn to relax your body and stimulate your mind by breathing in deeply and exhaling smoothly.
