“Life should be a glorious adventure or nothing at all.” Helen Keller
Recently I found myself getting lost upstate will hiking alone in the woods. I lost my sense of direction and wasn’t sure were I was and how I was going to find my way back out. I didn’t have my handy dandy cell phone with the navigation to help me. I was lost! After gaining my composure I sat down to try to orient myself. So many questions about my life came up for me. After about three hours, other hikers came walking by. They lead the way out.
After I got back to my camp site, I thought about how I found myself by getting lost. I realized that not knowing can be a great way to discover hidden emotions, strengths and fears that would have never come up if I didn’t get lost. After calming my mind, I realized so many things about who I am and how I respond to circumstances that I never would have known about myself if I didn’t get lost.
My younger daughter, just traveled alone cross country in your tiny home and had the most glorious adventure. Some of the pictures from the places she explored where absolutely incredible! Ever day was a new discovery. A journey into the unknown. You can follow her adventures on Instagram (ramblinanne).
So what is something you can do to discover a new path? How can you get lost to find yourself? Step outside of your comfort zone to discover yourself. Get lost! It will be the best thing you did for yourself in a long time.
Need some help in discovering yourself or stepping out of your comfort zone? Let’s talk.

Life is either a great adventure or nothing. Helen Keller
When was the last time you allowed yourself to take an adventure? Nature never places it safe! You are here to experience the magnificence of everything life has to offer. Most people get trapped in the hum-drum routine of every day life. Me included!
I was having lunch with a girlfriend today and I was telling her of an opportunity I was invited to participate on. It meant getting out of my routine for a week to fly out to Albuquerque New Mexico, and drive to Sedona Arizona to film a movie. Wow! I feel this tug to go and yet my obligations here are holding me back. My friend said go! All that stuff will be here when you get back. She just got out of the hospital with a severe case of Kidney stones in which her body became septic. She made a great point to let me know that life is short and live it to its fullness.
So, I’m going to make it happen. I love the calling of adventure and when it knocks I answer!
Are you ready to step outside your comfort zone and allow a glorious adventure in?

Are you feeling cowardly or courage? In the movie the Wizard of Oz, the cowardly lion was just that,faint-hearted, timid and fearful. He acted like a big shot, chasing little Toto around, but deep inside he didn’t have any courage. I find that that people who have the loudest roar usually are meek and insecure.
” The fearless are merely without fear. People who act in spite of their fear are truly brave.” Jamesing A. Lafond-Lewis
The cowardly lion went from begin a coward to courageous by stepping up and facing his fears. We are all faced with difficult situation at times. How we handle and confront those challenges are how we move from cowardly to courageous.
Every time we move forward with courage, we gain faith, strength, and confidence that we have the ability to overcome anything that comes our way. I know in my own life, when I was faced to go back into my comfort zone or take the leap of faith, and I faced my fear, I was always guided by spirit.
So the next time you have a choice to be cowardly or courageous, choose courageous, and just like the cowardly lion, you will feel empowered and confident.

How often do we do the same things day after day. We read the same types of books, eat the same kinds of foods, and just routinely go about our day doing the same things. How about stretching your limits? I recently took out a book from the library that would stretch my limits. It is; The Will to Power, by Friedrich Nietzsche. It is not an easy book to read, however I want to stretch my limits. I like to learn, grow, and stretch my limits. My younger daughter just got in her car and drove from southern California to Washington State, all by herself. A 24 hour drive, that she accomplished in 2 days. She is renting a house on Orcas Island, alone, to gather her thoughts, since she has been going through some difficult situations. She is stretching her limits. You never know what you are capable of doing, until you step out of your comfort zone, or your routine and do things differently. So maybe take that art class, dance lesson, volunteer, write, or what ever else that will stretch your limits, and see how life opens up new opportunities that you never thought possible. Now, more than ever it is so important to move beyond what we believed to be the only choice for us. There’s so much more waiting for us to be discovered. Just stretch your limits and experience the expansion of that grow. That what life is about. Go for the ultimate frontier!

Why do so many people settle for less than what they really want? Life has always presented challenges and hurdles that can hold us back. We stay in our comfort zone. If you read the news or watch it on TV, you hear all the reasons why you should stay in your comfort zone. We have the Ebola virus, terrorism all around the world, the economy is in trouble, and the list goes on and on. We live in a bubble, wanting security from the madness. I say, get out of your own way and begin to do different things. Fear, has a way of crippling you into staying frozen. I have realized that a life worth living is one that I get to step out of my own way, get out of my comfort zone, and give openly. Experiment and experience new things. That’s what being alive means! So LIVE!!!

Life really does begin outside your comfort zone. Playing it safe will never develop character, strength, or confidence. If you want more you must stretch yourself. Becoming a public speaker is most people’s number one fear. It certainly was for me. My voice used to crackle if I had to speak in public. But now, I love it! I overcame my fear because I wanted to be an empowerment coach. I didn’t allow the fear to stop me from pursuing my desire. I urge you to go ahead and step into your uncomfortable zone. What is it that you want? Give it a try. Then do it again and again. Soon, you will have gotten comfortable with what at one time was uncomfortable. Then you will have to stretch again to reach the next level of what ever makes you uncomfortable. You see, life is always expanding and expressing. So step outside your comfort zone to develop your character, strength, and confidence. I’m sure you will be happy that you did!
