Get Ready to Rumble

October 6, 2020

It’s time for us to join the line of the madmen, all chained together.

Time to be totally free and estranged….

To set fire to structures and run out in the street.

Time to ferment. How else can we leave the world-vat and go to the lip?

We must die to become true human beings.

Rumi

America has lost another great icon, Ruth Bader Ginsburg aka the notorious RBG!

Ruth Bader Ginsburg devoted her life to justice, values, ethics, morality, truth, and honor. She fought tirelessly for positive change and to create a system that is fair for all people. She chose her words wisely, knowing that what you say, how you say it, and when you say it can shift the outcome of a debate. RBG was a small woman that played in a big man’s world and conquered it. She was fearless. She was determined. She was courageous. She was compassionate and intelligent. How she governed her life and her work gave young girls and women a roadmap to follow. Her legacy will live on as an example of what anyone could accomplish if they led with their heart and use their minds for the ultimate good.

Our world is changing ever so rapidly and what is needed more than ever is the understanding that we are all connected. Whether you are running a corporation, a business, or a household, without treating each other with respect and valuing others, growth and success will never long endure. Money has two (2) purposes, to make you more comfortable and to serve others. If there is any other motive for its attainment, such as power or fame, then corruption will slowly infiltrate the mind and eventually destroy morals and values.

The world is waking up to a new paradigm. Women and men who stand up for each other, who are willing to fight for justice and equal rights for all. RBG was such a woman. She never raised her voice. She spoke with a steady, composed, and calm voice to make herself be heard. She was a force to be reckoned with. No wealth or position will long endure without truth and justice. Wisdom comes with experience. Experience comes from applied knowledge, and applied knowledge comes from study. From the words of the notorious RBG, “Real change, enduring change, happens one step at a time.” RIP

A Force for Good

August 5, 2020

Together, you can redeem the soul of our nation.

Though I am gone, I urge you to answer the highest calling of your heart and stand up for what you truly believe.

These were some of the last words said by John Lewis, the civil rights leader who died on July 17, 2020.

Powerful words, indeed. His life was dedicated to fighting injustice and promoting compassion, peace, forgiveness, understanding and love.

John Lewis did not just udder powerful words, he lived them, and he backed them up with action. This is a man that came from humble beginnings in a culture of prejudice and ignorance. He could have become an anger man that was part of the problem rather than the solution, but he stood on the shoulders of other great men and women like Rosa Parks, Martin Luther King, E.D Nixon and others that inspired him to stand up, speak up and be a force for good. He believed in non-violence and never give up on anyone. He was taught to love everyone, that hate was too heavy a burden to bear. He brought attention to those things that were unjust and risked his life for his cause and purpose.

This required great disciple. You see, it is easy to hate, to be angry, to be resentful and bitter when your family and generations before did not have the freedoms we take for granted. As he stated, “I urge you to answer the calling of your heart and stand up for what you truly believe.” He did not say the callings of his mind, he said the callings of his heart.

Disciple is teaching people to use their hearts and not their hot heads. There is a tremendous dedication to teach people how to reframe, refocus and redirect their emotions for good.

John Lewis stood for the rights of all people. He was a force for good!

More than ever today we need more people like him. People of substance to stand up, speak up and be of service to humanity, non-violently. Our world is in pain from beliefs of the past that no longer serve us. We must go forward by coming together. To find a common ground that will unite us, not divide us. Find a way out of no way. Look for possibilities. Engage in conversations to agree to disagree, so we can learn from one another. Communication is key and we can do this relatively quickly. Be a force for good. Thank you, John Lewis. You made the world a better place. You inspire me to do better and be better.

The longest journey is from the head to the heart! It is well worth the journey!

Please take the time to listen to the video and read his last words.

Thank you,

Monica

Let Your Heart to the Talking

July 29, 2020

I love when I’m able to connect with total strangers in the most deep and profound way! Today, I was teaching some dance classes via Zoom. I am so grateful for this platform to be able to connect with women to help them move their bodies and ease their minds. Well, I then went to check into the office I go to for the Chamber of Commerce to send some emails, check phone calls etc. I am the only one in this office unless I get an unexpected visitor like today. So I buzzed them in since the door is locked. This very nice lady was asking about what there is to do in town, and asking for brochures and other material to take with her.

Well, we starting having a conversation and in less then 5 minutes we connected on such a deep level, sharing things about each other that would take weeks to months to reveal, if at all!

We both felt each others heart and the energy was enormous! We both had tears in our eyes. She was so grateful that I was the one in the office, and so open to be of service, and I was grateful she was so nice. In a world that is portraying  hate, violence, anger and other negative emotions, I don’t see this. My experience is witnessing compassion, love, gratitude, and kindness. Our attention goes to were our energy flows. All it takes is a shift in consciousness to stay connected to the vibration of love. Look for what’s good.

That encounter lifted both our energy and spirits. The ripple effect of this encounter is how we begin to change the world. We can go deep and connect from the heart in a nano-second. We can find common ground with all our differences. All it takes is a willingness to keep your heart open and wanting to be of service.

As she was ready to leave, she asked me what my name was, I said it was Monica. I asked her what her name was and she said Veronica!

It doesn’t get any better then that! We are all connected.

Just Be Nice

July 15, 2020

I love Sunday Mornings. There seems to be this extra amount of peacefulness and serenity on Sunday mornings. Maybe it’s just me, but that’s how I feel. This Sunday, I woke up around 5:30 AM  and felt so calm and tranquil. I was sort of in a lucid dream state, mesmerized by a vibration of love, light and angelic beings. It was so sweet. I have a few rituals I do every morning, like journal, meditate, prayer, stretch, feed the cat, feed the birds outside, water the garden and then make a cup of coffee and read something spiritual. Sundays, I take the time to read longer. I am reading John E. Fetzer and the Quest For the New Age. It is fascinating!

So, then I decided that I was going to take my bike to the supermarket to purchase some garlic, which I needed for a recipe I was preparing for that evenings dinner. I got on my bike and headed to the store which was about a mile and a half away. A little way down on my journey, I saw a young man walking in the opposite direction I was heading, we caught each others attention and greeted each other Good Morning. The weather was simply gorgeous! After another block I noticed I forgot my mask! Oh No! I still haven’t got in the habit of bringing it every where. So, I turned back to go home to get it. That’s when I encountered this young man again. He saw me and I mentioned to him that I forgot my mask and have to go home to get it. He said, no, you don’t have to do that. I have an extra one. He was so nice. He gave me a fresh package, not even open.

He insisted I take it. He was so kind. Then he said here I have this pair of socks, again a package not even opened. I said no thank you, that you are so nice but you should give them to someone else. Again he insisted. He said they were meant for me. He was an Angel, sent at the perfect place and the perfect time. I was so happy and grateful for his presence. BTW, he was a Black Man. Which shouldn’t matter, and doesn’t matter to me. The only reason I am mentioning it is because, if one act of violence can stir so much attention and disruption in our world, One act of kindness, can and should create attention for peace, love and compassion. I just didn’t record this act of kindness to broadcast it on the news and social media. However it needs to go viral! I wanted to give him a big hug, but we both knew that wouldn’t be wise during these times, so we bumped fists. Did I attract this soul by my high vibration I was feeling this morning? Was he really an Angel? Was it a coincidence? I don’t know. All I know is that he was nice and nice speaks volumes. The more you can get into alignment with love, light and compassion, the more kindness will spread. What can you do to share kindness? Just be nice!

With Gratitude,

Monica

Practice the Pause

June 17, 2020

How hard is it to keep cool under pressure? For me it has been a practice. I would be okay with strangers and not react, but with people close to me, well that was much harder. That knee jerk reaction would just get the better of me. I would say things I later would regret. It also started to become a pattern. Every time my older daughter would do or say something that I thought wasn’t right, I would open my big mouth and put my two cents in. This would go on and on until I finally became aware of what about the dynamics of our relationship I was playing a part of.  I admit, I do not like the way she chooses to live her life but she is an adult and I must learn to pause. It ain’t easy!

Practicing this has made all the difference in myself and my relationship with her. Not that she has changed her habits or life style, but I have created a space for being present without judgement or resentment. She really is my greatest teacher. Teaching me patience, acceptance, non-judgement, love, compassion, peace and happiness. Who is your greatest teacher? Do you have  someone close to you that presses all those painful buttons in you? Once I looked deeper into our relationship I saw unhealed parts in me that she was reflecting back. Love can be messy. It can be painful. It can be raw and vulnerable. Practicing the pause, allows for healing to take place. It allows you to surrender to the moment and just sit in whatever is bubbling up in you without reacting. However uncomfortable it may feel in the moment, stay with the pause and it will eventually begin to dissolve into peace, and that peace will radiate out into others.

Listen deeply. breath deeply, and love deeply. It is here where you will release all those old patterns of hurt and suffering. The world is hurting right now. People are hurting. I have learned to pause, to be mindful of what I am doing and how I am being that either contributes to the suffering or contributes to happiness and peace. What are you contributing to?  Here’s a cute little video to bring some joy into your day!

The Winds of Change

June 3, 2020

We are certainly living in extraordinary times. You can even call them epoch times. There is a drama being played out in humanity that is changing so quickly that many people are getting caught in the strong currant of hate, fear, violence, anger, frustration and other negative emotions. Watching, listening and engaging in what the media is broadcasting can sweep you in that direction pretty easily. I choose not to do this. Oh yes, I can’t help getting the coverage of what’s going on and have watched the video of the horrible and disturbing act that killed George Floyd. I was deeply saddened by this act.

Just when the world was showing signs of hope and glimmers of healing from the pandemic an even more powerful and sinister virus has gripped us. The one of hate and prejudice. This virus can destroy not only your body but your soul. It will eat you up and destroy everything in its path. I can understand the pain and suffering that this unjust act has surfaced. I can understand the rage it has brought up. We all have darkness inside us. We all have a shadow. We just don’t like to become acquainted with our most deep and dark inner most fears. We will do anything to push them away.  But there is no more running, there is no more hiding and there is no more distracting ourselves. We must become intimate with our fears, insecurities and vulnerabilities.

It is here that you will find your light. It is going through the dark night of the soul you will emerge the hero of your own story. When you’re able to transmute your anger into compassion, you will know that you’re out of the woods. When this happens you will discover there is another story unfolding that you might miss if you get distracted from the winds of change. This story is much more fascinating, glorious and beautiful. It’s the story of now!  That’s right, the one right in front of you. There’s so much going on here. Can we keep our focus on this loving presence? Distracting is addictive behavior. It tempts you, it induces you, entices you, it coaxes you, it woos you, and convinces you to look away from the truth. Why not put your attention and energy on opening your hearts. Be the change you want to see in the world. No need to feed the fire, it’s been burning since the worlds been turning.

Peace out!

Keep the Pause

May 28, 2020

I have never felt so connected to the earth than I have at this time. I have always been a tree hugger hippie that loves to walk barefoot in the grass. I have always had a deep connection with nature and can spend hours in quiet solitude just being in the midst of her beauty. I knew that the environment was crying out for help sending SOS signals for a very long time.

Something had to give. Our world has been in a state of crisis for a long time. Everything was out of balance. Now finally, there is a pause. Now we are awakening to what we knew had to stop. We can not go on the way we have and think that everything is going back to normal. We, as a collective whole have to change or we shall perish. This earth is both fragile and resilient, as people, but there comes a point of no return.

We must learn to reconnect with nature, to find a balance that is symbiotic and interdependent. A way that will benefit our needs and give back to the endless supply of her bounty that wants to provide and give. We can not continue to take and take without giving back. We reap what we sow, and if we aren’t sowing healthy seeds we will leave the soil barren and destitute. The seeds of thought, the seeds of crops, the seeds of love are all connected. It all starts with healthy and right minded thinking. To nurture and care for our bodies, our minds, our thoughts, our emotions, our words, our actions, our spirit, each other, our communities and our world.

This is a pause. A time to reflect, to slow down and feel. To find compassion for all living beings. To observe nature and rediscover the magnificence of life.  Look deep into the eyes of another and you will see the reflection of yourself. Look deeper and you will see the universe in yourself. Look even deeper and you will see the connection and see the oneness. Now is the time like no other. It is time to reconnect and find balance to heal the earth and ourselves.

We Are All Connected

April 9, 2020

We are all connected, to each other, biologically. To the earth, chemically. To the rest of the universe anatomically… Not only are we in the universe, the universe is in us.

This realization is becoming more evident then ever before. Every day I wake up asking for guidance. I ask how may I be of service to humanity? The more time I have to reflect on this understanding the more liberated I feel.  We are social, emotional, energetic and spiritual beings. Knowing that we are connected is the most reassuring part of being human. We all want to be loved….

The more you know yourself the more you will know others. The more you know others the more compassion you will have. During these times of uncertainty ask yourself, what am I afraid of? What are the thoughts and feelings that are coming up for me at this time? I know a few friends who within the last week have transcended. There is sadness and empathy that I am experiencing. It’s a difficult time for so many.

How do we rise above and seek comfort during these times? By realizing that we are all connected. That there is a cosmic web that binds everything and everyone together. There is no separation. Every thought we think, to every act we take, is all affecting the whole. The more you can lift your vibration, the higher the frequency you will project  The higher the frequency you project the more connected you will feel.

The more connected you feel, the more love will radiate to and through you. The more love you exude, the more light will prevail. The more light that is emanating on the earth, the less darkness and fear can effect you.

Breath this in! We are all in this together.

Blessings & love,

Monica

Navigating Uncertainty With Faith and Courage

April 1, 2020

We are living in extraordinary times. The world we all thought we knew has been rearranged, turned upside down, right side out and shaken to the core. Although some would like things to just return to normal, we have to realize that there is no normal ever again. Things are forever changed.

Things weren’t working for a very long time and until this virus came along, we were busy distracting ourselves with things that took our attention away from what really mattered. Now we must come face to face with our fears, insecurities, habits, behaviors and lifestyles. There’s nowhere to hide and no where to go to avoid the feelings that will come up for you.

Trying to hold on to what was will only bring more suffering and pain. Embracing change and creating new systems that supports, encourages and empowers cooperation and compassion will emerge as we navigate through these times.

Now is the time to take extra good care of your health. To eat natural foods from the earth rather than processed foods. It is the time to pay attention to your thoughts and keep focused on what’s good. To be grateful for that we do have. Gratitude connects us to feelings that uplifting and supports our immune system. fear will weaken it.

Trust that you have the power to know that happiness is a choice, no matter what is going on. Trust that you will be calm and positive in spite of what the media is broadcasting to the public. Turn off the news and go within. This is the time to meditate, take a walk-in nature, journal, dance, paint, study or do what ever lifts your spirits. Discover you purpose and ignite it with passion.

These are the days of miracles and wonder. We’re all in this together. We are all connected.

God Bless,

Monica

The Answers Are Under Our Feet!

March 4, 2020

“You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete.”

Buckminster Fuller

There is a crisis on earth today. We are living in what is called the 6th major mass extinction. It is estimated that between 0.01 and 0.1% of all species will become extinct each year. That means between 200 and 2,000 extinctions occur every year. That is an alarming rate! If we keep going the way we’re going, our quality of life will become unsustainable. Our entire system will collapse. People are becoming more despondent and feeling hopeless. Because of this, people feel disconnected and broken. So how can we begin to make a change and reconstruct a new foundation build on the values of cooperation, consciousness and compassion?

Maybe the answers are right under our noses or feet and we just must begin to look and notice! I have always loved and respected nature, so when I heard of the movie; Fantastic Fungi-How Mushrooms Can Heal, Shift Consciousness and Save the Planet, I went to see it.  I was completely transformed. You see mycelium is the vegetative part of the fungus or the mass branching threads that connect and communicate with all of nature. Fungi’s incredible ability to heal environments that have suffered from catastrophic change might be explained by the epigenetic qualities of their network-like design. It is a network, our brain is a network, and our computer information-sharing systems are networks. Networks are valuable because of their resilience to change, their ability to adapt to change, and their ability to experience change.

Somehow our networks have become separated. Our families, our communities, our cultures, our world have felt the tuck of competition rather than communion. Can we reconnect the synapses that have become separated between nature and consciousness? Can we learn from the mycelium that knows how to share, be generous, support, and communicate with each other that is right under our feet?  Learning how to communicate with one another in a compassionate way will reestablish our connection with nature by creating a network of intelligent solutions. The whole is greater than its parts. To heal ourselves and the earth, we must begin to realize who we are and where we came from. We are all one. Healthy conversations build strong networks, strong networks connect and support one another. All life began and will end with fungi. The quality of our lives will be determined by how well we are able to communicate with each other. Let’s build a new model designed after one that has been around from the beginning of time. Love, the ultimate connector. It is the mycelium network that holds everything together.
