“In solitude there is healing. Speak to your soul. Listen to your heart. Sometimes in the absence of noise we find the answer.”
How I long for solitude and a quiet place. Somewhere I can go to rest and find some peace. It seems like my life has accelerated and everything is moving in warp speed. New York has gone through a major shift. What was once a bustling city full of art, culture and vitality is now somber and lost. Walking down the streets, you see massive homelessness, boarded up shops, and empty buildings. It is an eerie feeling that tugs at my soul to witness this change that happened in a blink of an eye. I have taken a huge step back. Iv’e retreated into my own womb because I am processing all these massive changes that humanity is going through. I managed to gracefully move through all the chaos unscathed until the last month. But being in the midst of all the depression that has taken so many spirits and lives has pulled at my heart strings.
The world is in a time of crisis. America, particularly is experiencing division and opposition like never before. This is an election year and it has been the most confusing, misinformed, heated, controversial and outright opinionated battle that seems to be separating all of us. I go into deep thought and think of how we came to this place. What happened to pull people apart? Were these feelings of anger, hatred resentment, and prejudice always lurking beneath the surface, just waiting to reveal itself? Did we become so complacent and numb to not want to step into the night and see our shadows?
I Find myself connecting with nature more and more. With all the troubles and confusion in the world right now, I invite you too, to hold the space and go within, where there is always a warm sunny place that will lift your spirits and bring peace to your heart. The empathy I have for humanity has flooded my soul with so much love. I have tears of sorrow and joy. I know if I can keep my heart open, even when it hurts, goodness will prevail.

We are spiritual beings having a human experience. We came from some place and are going to return somewhere. Amazingly, our DNA is a shaped like a spiral stairway reaching for the heavens. The more we can stay connected to that spiritual part of ourselves the more understanding, awareness, and consciousness will flow to and through us guiding our lives. One of the ways to keep the channel open is through the intellectual faculty of intuition. I’ve heard it said that if prayer is when we talk to God, intuition is when God talks to us. It’s that quiet whisper echoing in the core of our soul, always letting us know what is best for our well being.
Most people have either not been taught how to properly use this facility or have ignored their feelings when intuition has been trying to speak to us. It has therefore been laying dormant, just waiting to be turned on, when ever we are ready and willing to listen. The doorway to begin to open up your intuitive abilities, is through imagination. Ask for guidance and envision a soul image, like an angel, or a fairy, even an owl, or (what ever feels good), to assist you.
Then sit in silence and relax the mind. Our mental chatter often gets in the way of a clear connection, just like static on a radio channel. Once the flow of energy is calm and focused, the signal will be clear to receive the guidance from your soul. Begin to pay attention to your feelings; they are your compass, directing you along your journey to a more fulfilling life. Always remember, you are a spiritual being, and that to reclaim your connection, if it has been severed, takes practice, just like a muscle that has not been used becomes atrophied. Soon you will begin to awaken to your true self.
If you need help getting in touch with your intuition, let’s talk!

What are you passionate about? Do you have a passion? If not I suggest you begin at once to discover it. I am passionate about many things. I love life and the intricate things that make up our world. Nature is one of my big passions. Right now, as the trees, flowers, and shrubs are blooming, as everything is coming to life after a long cold winter, I find such passion in observing nature unfold. Passion is the oxygen to the soul. When you find something you love to do, give it your all. Passion is a powerful emotion that will keep you going even when things seem daunting. Passion keeps you connected to your desires. Passion ignites imagination, it spurs excitement to keep you moving in the direction of your dreams. Without passion live is dull, depressing, and uninteresting. Life is full of passion. Just look around, you can see passion everywhere. The visible and invisible world is beaming with it. All you need to do is connect with its energy. Just look at your body. Take time to realize the amazing intricacies that make it up. Once you are passionate about life it will reflect in everything you do and who you are. Life will get better and better in every way. So drink in the elixir of life, passion!

There is something magical that happens every time you take a pen to paper. A connection is made between your mind and body that can not take place the same way as when you are typing on a keyboard. You see, every letter on the keyboard is pressed the same, where as when you write long hand, every letter is unique. Pen to paper, connects you to the viseral experience. I knew this, however I never did write my blogs like this until now. I was listening to a sermon by a pastor from the Riverside Church in Manhattan this past Sunday when he spoke of this experience that happens when we take pen to paper. We get to explore a deeper level of meaning within ourselves when we write this way. We unite our whole being into the relationship with ourself, our spirit, and God. Some how it’s just not the same when we just type it out. So I’ve decided to write my blogs and stories long hand first, then type them out. Writing this now, I see how my thoughts flow so much smoother. Writing seems to move my hand effortlessly. So, I suggest for you to take pen to paper and explore the deep recesses of your mind and release what ever is stored there. There is a magical sensation of freedom that happens when you do. Start writing, pick up a pen, and begin discovering the most important person in your world, YOU!

Consciousness refers to your individual awareness of your unique thoughts, memories, feelings, sensations and environment. Your conscious experiences are constantly shifting and changing. For example, in one moment you may be focused on reading this article. Your consciousness may then shift to the memory of a conversation you had earlier with a co-worker. Next, you might notice how uncomfortable your chair is or maybe you are mentally planning dinner. This ever-shifting stream of thoughts can change dramatically from one moment to the next, but your experience of it seems smooth and effortless.
There are different levels of consciousness depending on your level of awareness. There are seven levels of awareness that will bring your consciousness to a heighten state of being.
More than any other time in the history of man is it vital to awaken to higher states of consciousness and be aware of our connection to our earth and each other. If we want to save our world, we must become conscious of our natural world and protect it. We can all make a difference. So lets start by opening our eyes to this magnificent planet and acknowledging her.
