Did you ever try something and just flop? I was asked to be one of the speakers for a start-up TV internet show, which I’ve done before. I mean, this was not my first rodeo. I’ve spoken many times before, but this time, I just flopped. I could blame it on the stage, the distractions that were numerous or any number of other things, however the bottom line is a screwed up. I had my talk memorized, I practiced over and over and over again. I recorded myself, I read it out load so many times I can’t even count. I wrote it on index cards, nothing helped. And it wasn’t even like I got nervous, it was just this weird brain freeze that occurred. So, I just improvised. Everyone in the audience said it was great, but I know what my good is and it was far from that. But you know what? I was okay with flopping. I didn’t beat myself up over it.
In the past, I would have been so hard on myself, but now, I strike it up to experience. I get back up and go do it again. Sometimes we get knocked down. Sometimes we fail, sometimes we make mistakes and some times we don’t make the grade.
I ask myself what did I learn from this experience and how can I improve?
Nothing helpful will come from beating yourself up over a failure. It is all about failing forward. failure is part of success. If you haven’t failed most likely you won’t succeed. So the next time you flop, brushed yourself, congratulate yourself for even trying and onward and upward.

Here we are. Another year around the sun. I know for me the time has seemed to go super fast. It is like a blink of an eye. If you aren’t conscious of where, how and with whom you choose to spend our time, it will drift by without your full attention. That is why it is so important to intentionally create what it is you want in our life.
This is a great time to write down what you want to create for the next year. Why not write down 100 aspirations? That may seem like a lot, but once your creative juices start to flow, you will be surprised as to how many more things you can think of that you want to be, do or have. It is a great exercise to stay focused on the positive too!
So, find a nice quite spot where you have no distractions, get some paper, pencils, colored pencils or whatever you feel that will stir up your imagination and design your future.
If you want 2019 to be different for you, than you must do something different. Set your mind free, and explore the infinite possibilities that are just waiting for you. Now is your time, but only if you take the time to make it yours!

There are so many things that can pull me away from focusing on the goals I desire to achieve. Everyday I wake up and there they are, distractions! If I don’t stay vigilant and keep my mind on what I want, that eye candy can lead me a stray. Weather it is Facebook, some interesting email, a phone call, or anything else that is competing for my attention, I need to stay focused on the task at hand. I think the world is suffering from attention deficit disorder. Distractions are everywhere! They are competing and filling our minds with unnecessary trivia. Keeping focused is a mental muscle that needs to be developed if we want to see the results that we desire. Desire means to give birth to. So if you desire to birth an idea, you must stay focused. Keep your thoughts directed on your vision every day. Give your attention, intention and release any tension, and before you know it, you will see your vision manifest into the physical. A laser beam is the extreme focus of light that can cut through steel. Think about what you can accomplish with laser beam thoughts!

Distractions, they are every where. The television, newspapers, internet, people, phone calls, the list is endless. We are constantly being bombarded with distractions. Until we have important and big goals that keep our mind focused, we will be quickly and swiftly carried off to distraction land.
Even with our goals at hand it will be tempting to be swayed by distractions. That is why it is so important to have your goals clearly written out and in front of you on a daily basis.
I know I can get pulled in different directions every day and if I didn’t have my goals in front of me, I would be all over the place. Meditation is also I wonderful ritual to practice every day to stay calm, focused and centered. It will eliminate distractions and keep your mind focused on your goals.
So tomorrow when you wake up, and your thoughts start taking you in every directions, take a deep breath, look at your goals, meditate, and your mind will stay on target and you will accomplish a whole lot more than you ever thought possible.
There is no attraction in distractions and there is no attraction with out the action, so stay focused. It is the key to your success.
