I am taking a course right now on Emotional Intelligence. I have taken this course before however I want to see how I can improve in the areas that still trigger my emotions. I still have plenty of room to grow! My emotional triggers are usually small things like my cell phone not working properly or my computer acting up. Then again I have some family members that can press certain buttons that try to stir things up.
What I find is missing when I work only with my EQ is my SQ or my spiritual intelligence. Without considering how this effects my EQ is leaving out a huge part of the equation. We are body, mind and soul. Therefore IQ (intelligence) EQ (emotional) and SQ (spiritual). When I coach people, I have discovered that most of their struggles are between the emotional and spiritual realms.
When I help people become aware of this missing link we open up the possibilities for healing their emotions, as well as tapping into intelligence’s that they never even were conscious of before. They increase their energy levels, productivity, health and happiness.
Here are 3 easy things to do to become aware and integrate your EQ and SQ.
1- When you are noticing your feelings, ask for guidance. Just see if you can quite your mind and listen.
2- Get comfortable in silence. Allow yourself the pleasure of just being. Feel the energy of the life force course through your body and mind without any judgement.
3- When something or someone presses your buttons, before you react, put your hand over your heart and breath.
These practices and more take time. Need some guidance? Let’s have a conversation. Call me for a FREE consultation.

IQ is the measure of someones intellect. EQ is the measure of someones emotional intelligence and CQ is the measure of someones ability to communicate intelligently. But what really makes a genius a genius? Albert Einstein was a genius. Stephen Hawkins is a genius. Michelangelo and Leonardo deVinci were also geniuses in their own right. Marie Curie, Virginia Wolf and Ludwig van Beethoven were considered genius, and the list goes on…
According to Websters dictionary Genius is defined as: exceptional intellectual or creative power or other natural ability.
Is it something in the brain that makes a genius? Is it intelligence, creativity, perseverance, or simply luck? Is it something from the divine?
Just because you are really smart and have a high IQ does not make you a genius. Through my studies and understanding, EQ and CQ are just as important as IQ for getting the results you want in life. However that still will not make you a genius.
What if we can nurture someone to become a genius? Maybe the more we allow creativity, imagination and create a nurturing environment to become part of a child’s life the more they can develop their brain to become geniuses? Through neuroscience we are getting closer to understanding what parts of the brain get activated when we use our creative skills.
I believe that you must have a strong purpose, have passion, perseverance and determination to unleash the genius inside of you! You also need support!!! Someone who believes in YOU!
If you need a coach, hire one, it will be the best investment you can make! Don’t be a smarty pants, thinking you know it all. Be a genius!!

How many times have you been a conversation were someone was insisting on being right? It seemed like they weren’t even listening to what you had to say. They were just addicted to wanting to be RIGHT! They just wanted to prove their point, position or claim. Every time that we get in this mind-set we actually release dopamine into our body and get a good high from it. We want to prove a point, get the right answers and look smart.
Now being smart is great, however if there is no emotional intelligence behind the smarts we are really not growing, learning and communicating well. We actually remain stuck, and actually are damaging our relationships in business and in our personal life. If you are a boss or in a leadership position, this is vital for the health of your company.
It is wanting to be in a position of power and control rather than cooperation. When we learn how to listen and just be open to another point of view, it will allow so much trust and open dialog. We shift to create the freedom to explore possibilities and look for solutions to problems rather than slam the door shut on any other view point.
So the next time you feel the urge to be RIGHT, rather than react, take a moment to respond in a different way.
Here are three suggestions to keep an open mind and respond rather than that knee jerk reaction:
1-Ask- How do you feel?
2- Ask- What do you think?
3-Ask-How can we work together to find an answer?
Would your rather be RIGHT or do the RIGHT thing?
Here is a short video explaining how our ego gets in the way of our success.
