What Are You Feeling?

November 29, 2018

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place. …

We have the ability to connect with anybody, anywhere at any time, however we seem to be losing the ability to communicate.  People are feeling more isolated then ever before. Loneliness is a feeling of despair, powerlessness, abandonment, shame, depression and many other emotions that keep you locked into believing your not enough.

To compensate these feelings of loneliness, you might entertain yourself by getting hooked and absorbed into your cell phone.   Everyone seems to be doing it. We can keep our heads down and get sucked into the vacuum of a screen that projects what ever fantasy, illusion or fictitious image that draws us into its void.

Don’t get me wrong, it is a fabulous way to connect if we use it wisely. Communication is about coming together, to commune. To look into someone eyes and connect on a visceral level. To talk and share your words and feelings so you can share experiences, information, discoveries and explore, create, expand, learn and grow. We can not do this alone. We do this by communication. We must begin to bridge the gap and come together rather than pull away.

Lift and Shift

September 27, 2018

“Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall.”—Confucius

What are you capable of? Do really know? Can you let go of the life you think you ought to live for the life that is waiting for you to fulfill? You see we all have a burning passion within us, ready to be unleashed, explored and discovered. But it will never be revealed to you until you allow yourself to let go of the known and step into the unknown.

It is in your greatest fears  that this secret is hidden. Facing them will uncover your strengths, vulnerability and courage. When your heart opens and connects with your spirit, you will know that nothing is impossible.

When you lift and embrace the enormity of what is possible, you will shift and believe in yourself like never before. Each time you take a step out of your comfort zone and shift into the blueprint of the unknown, magical things being to happen. It is as if the universe coalesces to bring you any possibility. All you must do is surrender and be open. A new life is waiting for you if you are ready to lift and shift. Are you ready?

Question Everything!

October 5, 2017

What does it take to navigate these times of uncertainty? Being curious.  Children always ask  questions? Being curious is the insatiable desire to know more.

In a world that is full of constant change, just keeping up with the change can be a full time job.

Rapid technological advances requires us to incorporate new ways of thinking and doing. Everything is becoming more and more automated. Kiosk’s in airports to  self checkouts at supermarkets, and self driving cars and artificial intelligence are right around the corner.

Corporations are still downsizing and fast food chains are still supersizing. It seems like everything has gone upside down.

With all these changes, people are experiencing anxiety, fear losing their jobs, and fear of becoming irrelevant.

Looking beyond potential threats and toward potential opportunities are where the answers lie.

Being curious is one of the key elements that will keep your mind focused on possibilities rather than the threats.

Curiosity is the inquiring mind. It is asking how things can be done differently. It is staying open to new ideas and learning new things. It is a childlike innocence that wants to discover, explore, play and feel forever young..

Are you yearning for this experience? Let’s explore together. I have lots of questions for you that will spark your creative juices!

Get Lost!

September 28, 2017

“Life should be a glorious adventure or nothing at all.” Helen Keller

Recently I found myself getting lost upstate will hiking alone in the woods. I lost my sense of direction and wasn’t sure were I was and how I was going to find my way back out. I didn’t have my handy dandy cell phone with the navigation to help me. I was lost! After gaining my composure I sat down to try to orient myself. So many questions about my life came up for me. After about three hours, other hikers came walking by. They lead the way out.

getting lostAfter I got back to my camp site, I thought about how I found myself by getting lost. I realized that not knowing can be a great way to discover hidden emotions, strengths and fears that would have never come up if I didn’t get lost.  After calming my mind, I realized so many things about who I am and how I respond to circumstances that I never would have known about myself if I didn’t get lost.

My younger daughter, just traveled alone cross country in your tiny home and had the most glorious adventure. Some of the pictures from the places she explored where absolutely incredible! Ever day was a new discovery. A journey into the unknown. You can follow her adventures on Instagram (ramblinanne).

getting lost 2So what is something you can do to discover a new path? How can you get lost to find yourself? Step outside of your comfort zone to discover yourself. Get lost! It will be the best thing you did for yourself in a long time.

Need some help in discovering yourself or stepping out of your comfort zone? Let’s talk.

Learn To Earn

August 3, 2017

3 Tips to Learning

1. Know why you are learning.

Your brain always needs a motive to learn something before it will actually do it. Learning actually has so many possible benefits that everyone should make it a top priority. You can learn how to be successful, you can learn from the mistakes of others, you can learn new useful skills, and you can learn how to live a healthier lifestyle. Don’t just take my word for it, many great men and women throughout history endorsed learning.

Albert Einstein said “Intellectual growth should commence at birth and cease only at death.”

Henry Ford said “Anyone who stops learning is old, whether at twenty or eighty. Anyone who keeps learning stays young.”

Earl Nightingale said “The minute a man stops learning, our world will begin to pass him by. He will be left a lonely and disconsolate figure in its wake.”

Abraham Lincoln said “All I have learned, I learned from books.”

John Adams said “I read my eyes out and can’t read half enough…the more one reads the more one sees we have to read”.                                                                                                                                         Thomas Jefferson, Andrew Carnegie, Napoleon Hill, Winston Churchill, Bruce Lee, Mahatma Gandhi, Leonardo da Vinci, Confucius, Socrates, and more.  All of these people had something positive to say about learning. Learning is how you move up in life, and expand your awareness to new ideas.

  1. Form a habit of learning.

This is crucial. True life-long learners know they have a lot to learn, and that the more time spent learning the better. They cut down on distractions like television, radio, video games, and social media to free up more time for learning. They listen to audio books during commute. They read everyday. You don’t have to go to the extreme with this.

However imagine if you just made a habit of spending an hour a day reading. Over the course of a year that would add up to 365 hours spent reading! Don’t fall into the pessimistic trap of thinking you have to give up your life or spend hours every day reading for it to have any effect. Just make small changes, slightly adjust your habits in favor of learning, and watch how your life will start to change with all the new knowledge being poured into your brain.

As Mahatma Gandhi put it “Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.”

3. Surround yourself with like minded people who support you.

Meet up with people who are experts in your topic of study. Go to classes, seminars, courses, live events, and network with the people there. Keep friends around who understand and see the benefit of life-long learning. Tell your friends and family what you plan to learn and get them to run accountability checks on you.

Life-long learners learn from a multitude of sources, especially when they really want to master a subject. Books, audio books, courses, seminars, other people, and mentors. These are all fair game for self-education and a life-long learner. Expect success and be confident that you will learn whatever it is you are trying to learn as this will make it easier for you to learn it! All of this will motivate you to stay focused on your goals and learn. Learning truly is a lifestyle.

Learning should be fun! If you want to explore how I can teach you to be a better learner to be a better earner, let’s talk. Always a free consultation.
