Stand Up, Speak Up, Step Up

October 17, 2019

“If you don’t stand for something, you will fall for anything.”

Malcolm X

How important are your rights, your values, your morals, your freedom and how you live? You and I have choices as to how we want to live and what matters to us. If you do not put your morals, values and integrity first, anything will sway you to comprise them. That is how important it is to stand by beliefs that just and righteous. This is way different than wanting to be right, this is being open minded and standing up when everyone else is following the crowd.

Ed Stack, the owner of Dick’s Sporting Goods, did just that. He wrote a book It’s How We Play The Game, Build a Business That Takes a Stand. Make a Difference. He did something extraordinary, he stopped selling guns of all kinds. He decided that after all the mass shootings, he couldn’t ethically stand by and watch this continue. It cost his company a whopping quarter of a billion dollars. Let me say that again, a quarter of a billion dollars! He put lives before people. Now that’s integrity!

He is an example of what one person can do to make a huge impact and difference in the future of our country and world. Who will be next to take a stand for change in the multi billion dollar conglomerate giants? Let’s face it there are lots of changes that desperately need to take place to create a more peaceful, healthy and sound world. By each and every one of us, to take a stand for something that touches our hearts, can be the spring board for larger companies to change their policies. Whether  it’s animal rights, child welfare, climate change, healthy food choices or anything that needs reform. Stand up, speak up and step up. Now more than ever, we need your voice to be heard.

Codes of the West

December 15, 2015

code of the westWhat if our word really meant something?  What if we all lived with integrity? What if these codes still meant something?

These codes really resonated with me, I hope they stir some food for thought in your minds as well.

They should rename them codes of ethics:

1- Live  each day with courage.

2-Take pride in your work.

3-Always finish what you start.

4-Do what has to be done.

5-Be tough but fair.

6-When you make a promise, keep it.

7-Ride for the brand.

8-Talk less and say more.

9- Remember some things aren’t for sale.

10-Know where to draw the line.

What Do You Really Put Value On?

September 22, 2015

core valuesWhat are your core values in life? As a life coach, I empower people to understand how important it is to live by their values. When you are absolutely clear on what you value, it is easy to make decisions based on your beliefs.  How do you know what you value most? Well, look at the actions you take on a daily basis. What does your life look like? Your real core values will be expressed in what you do, under stress. That’s when the real you, appears. My core values are, integrity, spirituality, family, health and then career, in that order. If someone else has the same core values, however they put career first, health, family, spiritual life, and integrity, their life will look totally different. It is so important to really grasp this knowledge. If your life is a mess, go look at your values, and in what order you place them. It will explain why it isn’t working for you. So, if you want a life that is empowered, happy, and fulfilling, examine your core values, and put them in order. By rearranging and living by  your highest core value first, will make all the difference. For me, it is “Do the right thing.” Integrity is a must in my life, I hope it is for you too!
