“Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms- to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way.”
I feel like I am living between worlds. I still have one foot in the old world, a world that is quickly vanishing and my other foot in a brave new world. When will I allow myself to totally embrace the new and let go of the old? Maybe it is being courageous enough to just walk right into it. Maybe all I have to do is leave behind all the baggage of limiting thoughts, beliefs, habits, behaviors and fears that have created all the upheaval in the world. Could it be that easy? Does it take a crisis to recognize this truth?
So many questions. There are many people who are hurting more than ever. The massive changes in the world has caused havoc in peoples lives. Alcoholism, child abuse, domestic violence are at an all time high. In Naturopathic terms, this is called a healing crisis. Everything is coming to the surface to be healed. All our fears, worries, insecurities, and darkness that we want to hide is all being revealed. The corruption, deceit, and cover-ups are bubbling up to the surface. Everything is being exposed.
Staying calm in the midst of the upheaval takes faith in knowing that everything is for the greater good. The divine operation is always for expansion and greater expression. This means something beyond what has gone before. Something entirely new. However, this understanding comes from deep contemplation and practice. Practicing being mindful and to observe my emotions, is where the answers to these questions reveal themselves. To listen and feel my feelings without judgement. To be compassionate with myself and love myself deeply. When I do this, I am ready to step into the brave new world. I then am ready to let go of the old world of limitation and put both feet fully committed into the unknown. A world that is full of miracles and wonder. If you are feeling like you’re between worlds. Let’s take that leap of faith together. Are you ready?

I am taking a course right now on Emotional Intelligence. I have taken this course before however I want to see how I can improve in the areas that still trigger my emotions. I still have plenty of room to grow! My emotional triggers are usually small things like my cell phone not working properly or my computer acting up. Then again I have some family members that can press certain buttons that try to stir things up.
What I find is missing when I work only with my EQ is my SQ or my spiritual intelligence. Without considering how this effects my EQ is leaving out a huge part of the equation. We are body, mind and soul. Therefore IQ (intelligence) EQ (emotional) and SQ (spiritual). When I coach people, I have discovered that most of their struggles are between the emotional and spiritual realms.
When I help people become aware of this missing link we open up the possibilities for healing their emotions, as well as tapping into intelligence’s that they never even were conscious of before. They increase their energy levels, productivity, health and happiness.
Here are 3 easy things to do to become aware and integrate your EQ and SQ.
1- When you are noticing your feelings, ask for guidance. Just see if you can quite your mind and listen.
2- Get comfortable in silence. Allow yourself the pleasure of just being. Feel the energy of the life force course through your body and mind without any judgement.
3- When something or someone presses your buttons, before you react, put your hand over your heart and breath.
These practices and more take time. Need some guidance? Let’s have a conversation. Call me for a FREE consultation.

I feel our eyes can be both a blessing and a curse. We all want to leave a great first impression with others when we are going on a job interview, going on a first date or any encounter that will influence our presence. How well we look, speak and act can either leave people thinking highly of us or not. However, sometimes our eyes can deceive us. We can be quick to judge and see only what we perceive as faults in someones appearance.
Observations leaves room for looking deeper and beyond the outward appearance. We are already closing ourselves off to someone when we judge how they look. If we were visual impaired, what would be the first impression then? Would we listen with keen ears to hear their qualifications and how well they are a match with your company? Would you be more aware of how you feel around their presence? What would be the guiding light to help determine if someone is leaving a great first impression? The gift of sight is a marvelous blessing, however we must use this gift wisely and not judge someone strictly on outward appearances. Their energy, habits, values and actions need to speak louder than their looks. Leaving a great first impression is important but do not overlook the person hiding under the mask. Observation is strength and judgement is weakness. Do not let your eyes deceive you.

Have you ever taking an inventory of yourself? It is not something to take lightly. It is studying yourself under difference situations and accurately taking account of yourself. To be true to you! The more you know yourself, the more you will know others as well. Not as they appear to be, but as they really are. The tone of their voice, posture, eye contact, the use of their words and how they act under pressure, when angry, in love, when they have money, or not have any, how and when they eat, when losing in a game or sport, winning, when their alone and so forth. This is not about judgement but rather observation, of oneself and others. Judgement is weakness and observation is strength. The whole point of being true to you is to become all that you can be in this world and to know others is to become successful in life. Humility is a forerunner of success. Until we become humble in our own hearts we will not be able to connect and get into the minds of others. So take a good look at yourself and observe yourself like never before. Before long, you will become true to you!
