Initiative is the pass-key that opens the door to opportunity. In Napoleon Hills book The Law of Success, there is a chapter devoted to this quality that must be understood and applied, if you desire success in your life. To chose a definite chief aim or purpose is the first step. Then to have this purpose materialize, you must do something every day to get closer to your desired outcome. You must take initiative.
I recently published a book, entitled How May I Serve. I use a pen name “Karen Mathews”, because it is a memoir of my life so far. I have wanted to write this book for some time. I took initiative every day to complete my book, and now it is published and available for sale. The goal of my book is to empower women who struggle with limiting beliefs about themselves and what they can accomplish in life. With initiative, I would never have completed this goal.
So today, ask yourself, what can I do to Serve others? What do I have to offer? Than create a plan, and do something every day to get closer to it. You will then have taken initiative, which will make you a leader and give you self confidence to keep moving forward in a positive direction. How may you serve?

Enthusiasm is the driving force behind any action. Entheos, “possessed by a God”. Without it there will be no attraction to your action. Not only will it inspire you, it will energize everyone around you too. Enthusiasm will propel you to get into the zone.
When you are engaged in an activity that you love, enthusiasm, is the steam that keeps you moving in the direction of your dream. Even if you are doing work that is not to your liking, but have a dream, enthusiasm, will propel you to keep doing what your doing until you can success. Without it you will be doomed to conformity and monotony.
So envision the desired outcome you want to achieve and back it with enthusiasm. It is the vital force behind any great achievement.
So begin at once to kindle the fire, and little by little it will build into a roaring flame of enthusiasm and ignite everything and everyone around you.
“Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.” Ralph Waldorf Emerson

What is it that you want in life? Have you ever really sat down with yourself and asked this question? We are given this precious gift of life and tend to waste it living halfheartedly. Why not give it 100 percent? You see, you only get what you give. Why not dare to live all out? Why not dare to be different? What are we afraid of? If we begin to ask ourselves these questions, we can then begin to discover what we really want and go for it.
There is only one of you. You are a perfect expression of God. Begin to step out of your comfort zone and explore this marvelous world and all it has to offer. The greatest sin is to die with your music still inside of you. So what is it that you want? Don’t even think about what any body else would think about how you want to live your life. Here are four questions you can ask your self when you want to make a decision ;
1-Do I want to be, do or have this?
2-Will being, doing or having this move me in the direction of my goal?
3-Is being, doing or having this in harmony with God’s laws or the laws of the universe?
4-Will being, doing or having this violate the rights of others?
If the answer to the first three questions is yes, and the answer to the last question is no, then make the decision and go for it.
Dare to be different and life full out!

“It is not your part to guide or supervise the creative process.
All you have to do with that is to retain your vision,
Stick to your purpose,
And maintain your faith and gratitude.”
Wallace D. Wattles
I love this quote! So what is the creative process? It is understanding your purpose, seeing the vision you have for it and setting goals. That’s it. You don’t have to know how you are going to do this, you just need to know what it is you really want and go after that with passion and persistence.
The creative process will take care of the rest. When you begin to live in harmony with the laws of the universe, the creative process has a way of manifesting in physical form all the things necessary to accomplish your desire.
So what is it that you really want? Set a course today and take the steps that will start the creative process in motion. Once it’s got enough steam behind it, you will be amazed at how quickly it will begin to take form.
Let’s start creating!

Passion, where would we be with out it? Most people associate passion with romance, however I am referring passion with your desire to be or do something magnificent. We all are born with special talents and abilities that when nurtured will develop into mastery.
Napoleon Hill devoted a whole chapter on this which he titled Desire, the starting point of all achievement. He knew that you must have a burning desire or passion toward something, if you want it to become a reality.
What gets you jazzed? Use your imagination to dream of a desired out come. See it in your minds eye and become obsessed to accomplishing it. With passion you will move closer and closer toward it.
Passion is a powerful emotion that when channeled into your hearts desire will unleash boundless enthusiasm and energy.
Find the passion inside of you and life will respond with joy, love, and a sense of definite purpose like never before.
Anything is possible with passion!

I just got finished reading a biography on Andrew Carnegie’s life. Boy did he have obstacles to over come! He was born in 1835 in Dunferline Scotland. His parents were from the working class and life became difficult with many obstacles after work dried up for his father. So at the age of 12 his mother decided that they might have a chance for a better life in America, so they set their sail and came over the Atlantic. They were poorer than church mice. They literally had nothing and lived with relatives in one room. Andrew sought out work and never looked back. He became the richest man in the world. He did not look at what he didn’t have but rather on what he wanted. He didn’t look at the obstacles but kept his eye on his goals.
So the next time you seem to have a huge obstacle in your path, don’t give that attention, focus on where it is you want to go instead. The obstacle must give way.
“Obstacles are like wild animals. They are cowards but they will bluff you if they can. If they see you are afraid of them, they are liable to spring upon you; but if you look them squarely in the eye, they will slink out of sight.”
The greater the obstacle the greater the reward.
