It’s A Mistake

May 31, 2018

We all make mistakes, have struggles, and even regret things in our past. But you are not your mistakes, you are not your struggles, and you are here NOW with the power to shape your day and your future.                                                           Steve Maraboli

I have made a ton of mistakes in my life. I continue to make them. Every time I fail or take a wrong turn, I do my best to see what I can do differently. How can I improve in some way?

I used to beat myself up over my mistakes, however I have learned that to move forward I need to forgive myself and do better today. Here is an acronym John C. Maxwell created to help him keep mistakes in perspective.

M-messages that give us feedback about life.

I-interruptions that should cause us to reflect and think.

S-signposts that direct us to the right path.

T-tests that push us to greater maturity.

A-awakenings that keep us in the game mentally.

K-keys that we can use to unlock the next door of opportunity.

E-explorations that let us journey where we’ve never been before.

S-statements about our development and progress.

So the next time you make a mistake, just know that you can climb out of the hole that you might think you are in. It is never to late to start again. Just keep moving forward and take a new path.

The Power of Positive Thinking

October 28, 2014

There was an article in the Sunday New York Times entitled, The Problem with Positive Thinking. It states that the problem with positive thinking is that it fools the mind into perceiving that we’ve already attained our goal, and weakens our ability to go out and achieve it. Actually, this sounds more like negative advice, keeping people feeling down and  defeated. Every theologian, philosopher, and great thinker have disagreed on many topics, however they all agreed on one. You become what you think about. If your thinking in negative terms, you will get negative results. If you think in positive ones, you will get positive results. In a world where we are bombarded with negative messages all day long, I believe we need to hear, see, and feel positive and uplifting affirmations to help us change our own thinking and heal the world. Yes, you need to set goals, and take action, not merely day dream about something you desire. The article says that positive thinking may calm you down but drains you of energy. I know that when I think positive thoughts, I feel energized and when I am feeling negative, I feel down and have little energy..  The study they conducted to prove their theory, is just that, a theory. I suggested you take the advice of people who are positive minded, associate with positive thinkers and fake it until you make it. After all, if you think you can, you are right. If you think you can’t you are right too!

Magical Water

June 3, 2014

waterWater is the fundamental building block of all life. It is the driving force of all nature, and the most common substance on earth. Every living thing needs water to survive.

However it is the least understood and unappreciated by so many people. Did you know that water is intelligent and has a memory? We are water beings as much as this earth is.

Dr. Masaru Emoto developed a technique using crystals formed in frozen water and high speed photography to reveal the hidden messages in water. The shape of the water crystal changed when words, music and images were encoded on to the water crystal. If this is so, could the water in everything we eat or drink carry with it a subtle informational content that imparts a “memory” into our “water bodies”. Could the visual images that we encounter, the sounds that we hear, and our thoughts all be encoded into the water of our cells and become a part of our unconscious mind.?  What if we blessed  and loved everything and everyone? Our earth would change dramatically!

The next time you use water in any way, say thank you, thank you, thank you!

“What we know is a drop, what we don’t know is an ocean.” Sir Issac Newton
