From Depression to Expression

August 2, 2018

Depression begins with disappointment. When disappointment festers in our soul, it leads to depression.

Joyce Meyer

I was talking with a client the other day whose life was always  filled with much joy, prosperity and purpose.  He is two years away from retiring, from a job which he has always loved until recently. Now, somehow he has become disconnected and his fears are over taking him. Like many people who feel depressed, he is going through the motions without the passion and purpose in life. It is a tough place to be. It is debilitating.

I know, in my younger years I too felt alone, anxiety, sad and disconnected. I understand the grip of pain that latches on to your soul. This darkness grabs you and doesn’t want to let go. I put on a happy face but underneath I was a totally mess.

What I did was turn my mess into a message. That is what my client is now doing as well. It doesn’t happen over night. Our society has become so dysfunctional that it kind of reinforces depression, suppression, and oppression.  Addiction is now considered a pandemic. Everyone has their heads down looking in their phones. No one is communicating face to face any more. The word communicate comes from the word commune, to come together. To commune with nature, to commune with our spirit, to commune with divine intelligence and even commune with our bodies in a healthy way. Through neuroscience we know that the brain can rewire itself. We know that the brain has plasticity. Which means that with the proper help, understanding and support we can reconnect to our true self and divine energy to lift ourselves out of a state of depression to an expression of joy!

Finding your joy and releasing your pain is the greatest gift you can give to yourself and to the world. When we do, we are actually creating a more peaceful place for all humanity. That is how big this really is! Here’s to you’re happy self.

Nature Deficit Disorder

November 18, 2014

nature deficit disorderIf you want to think clearer and feel better, spend some time in nature. The plant world holds the key to unlocking our confusion and troubles. It soothes our soul and provides life-giving oxygen for us to breath. I once owned and operated a horticultural business. I would install and maintain plants in homes and office’s. These plants brought the outside world inside and helped people become calmer, more productive and healthier. People need the connection with nature. In our technological world where many people sit in an office or indoors for most of the day never being exposed to any nature, a condition called nature dfecit disorder occurs. We become disconnected. Nature deficit disorder also is the disconnect from our food supply, our wanting to irraticate all insects, and anything that separates us from the natural world. When we learn to reconnect and live in harmony with our natural world, balance will be restored. So I invite you to spend some time in nature and reconnect with our life giving planet earth.
