We are living in extraordinary times. The world we all thought we knew has been rearranged, turned upside down, right side out and shaken to the core. Although some would like things to just return to normal, we have to realize that there is no normal ever again. Things are forever changed.
Things weren’t working for a very long time and until this virus came along, we were busy distracting ourselves with things that took our attention away from what really mattered. Now we must come face to face with our fears, insecurities, habits, behaviors and lifestyles. There’s nowhere to hide and no where to go to avoid the feelings that will come up for you.
Trying to hold on to what was will only bring more suffering and pain. Embracing change and creating new systems that supports, encourages and empowers cooperation and compassion will emerge as we navigate through these times.
Now is the time to take extra good care of your health. To eat natural foods from the earth rather than processed foods. It is the time to pay attention to your thoughts and keep focused on what’s good. To be grateful for that we do have. Gratitude connects us to feelings that uplifting and supports our immune system. fear will weaken it.
Trust that you have the power to know that happiness is a choice, no matter what is going on. Trust that you will be calm and positive in spite of what the media is broadcasting to the public. Turn off the news and go within. This is the time to meditate, take a walk-in nature, journal, dance, paint, study or do what ever lifts your spirits. Discover you purpose and ignite it with passion.
These are the days of miracles and wonder. We’re all in this together. We are all connected.

What’s the news of the day, good neighbor I pray. They say the balloon has gone up to the moon.
Fake news, it’s every where these days. You can tweet false information and it will spread like wild fire! Fad diets, the newest health craze, and so much propaganda to sell you something. Power, money and greed have become the mega-god. Someone is trying to sell or convince you of something every day. We have the ability to create images, manipulate pictures, distort documents, statements and so much more.
So how will you know if something is real or fake? You don’t unless you look deeper into the source from where it is coming from. You can no longer believe everything you see, read or hear at face value. You have to double click and research on your own, otherwise you will be a part of the problem in spreading this fake news. Think before you click and share. Let’s face it, we are all over loaded with too much information. The truth has to be highly guarded and valued since scams and corruption is all too prevalent. It seems like everything in the media has a spin on it. If you listen to one news station they tell you their view point. Then you listen to another and they have a completely different take on the same subject. Social media is a whole new way of spreading fake news. Your head can spin around and do a few 360’s before you realize it’s all fake. Truth and trust is more important than ever these days. Do your do diligence and resource the source of where the information you are receiving is coming from. Double click and go deeper into the subject matter before this fake news becomes dangerously real. It not only hurts people, but relationships, cultures, society and humanity. Stay curious!

” Every time I sit down to play, I learn something new.”
The word play, has such a light and fun vibe when you say the word. As apposed to the word work, which has a much more serious connotation behind its energy. Children love to play and are able to take the simplest of objects, use their imaginations and make it into something totally different. Then we go to school and the playing stops.
What happens? Playing is essential to learning. If you are in an environment where there is stress, tension, pressure or any sort of feeling that isn’t relaxed your ability to learn is lessened. Neuro-science has shown that when your brain senses that it isn’t safe you can not be in a creative mind-set. It is actually in a survival one. Once you don’t feel safe, there is no trust, and where there is no trust, you shut down.
Playing is essential to learning. As adults, we go to work. We don’t say we go to play. Why do we say we play an instrument, or we play sports, rather than work a violin, or work at baseball? What if you started playing more? What if you started having more fun? What if you started using your imagination and played with ideas to create something new?
The more we bring back the arts in school, in our places of work and in our homes, the more we can learn, and the more we learn, the more fun we have, and the more fun we have the more peaceful we become. Who’s ready to play?

Two weeks ago, I was taking a flight back from Atlanta to Kennedy Airport. The flight was delayed do to thunderstorms so I arrived in New York after midnight. Because of this the next train taking me to my home town was over an hour wait. I was grumbling and cursing that it was late, I was tired and wanted to get home. Then I said to myself, STOP IT! There’s nothing you can do so you must be here for a reason.
After taking the air-train to Jamaica station, I was pacing back and forth when I noticed a young Asian girl by herself with lots of luggage crying and her head down into her cell phone. I asked her if there was something wrong and if I could help in some way. She nodded her head no. I left her alone but couldn’t let it go, so I was insistent to find out if she needed help. She finally opened up and said she came here alone from China and had nowhere to stay for the night. Her airbnd wasn’t available until tomorrow morning and she didn’t know what to do. At this point an officer on duty came by too. I told him what her dilemma was and we both agreed that she should just stay at the Jamaica terminal until the morning. That it is safer than venturing out in the middle of the night.
So she agreed. But she was still sobbing. Finally she trusted me enough to share that she didn’t know she could take an air-train to Jamaica, so she took a gypsy cab which charged her a $100.00 then quickly switched the $100 dollar bill for a $1 dollar bill and said she owned him another $100.00 (Not Kind!) OMG, that got my goat! I felt so sorry for her that she got ripped off of $200.00. Well, I gave her my business card and told her that if she needed anything at all, to please reach out.
She contacted me the next day and thanked me profusely! She said it made all the difference. Then she texted me right before she was leaving to let me know I gave her so much courage!. Just be kind. It changes everything! What goes around comes around. Be kind, Be nice! The more people can do this the better world you will see and experience.

Intimacy is a word that people think of when it comes to sex and getting physically close with someone. However, intimacy has more to do with connecting on a level where you are able to trust, share, be open to exposing your feelings on a very deep level. It is about being vulnerable and feeling secure enough to communicate your truth. You even become intimate with yourself! To love yourself enough that your thoughts and feelings are okay, what ever they are.
If you weren’t able to express your feelings as a child, most likely you learned to hide them, avoid them, suppress them, dumb them and find other ways to not let people see your true self. You don’t even want to see your true self. If you’ve been hurt physically or mentally it changes who you think you are. You develop an armor shield to protect yourself.
But you will always have that insecurity and shame around you. It will follow you and keep you a prisoner in your own body. You might think you’re protected but you’re exposed. Who you really are speaks louder than your words. This is were help is so important. We can’t see our blind spots. You can get naked in bed but until you take off your armor you’re not connecting . Getting intimate is one of the most liberating feelings. So, isn’t it time you come out to play and in to me see?

This past weekend I was at a two day seminar were we fully engaged in learning, growing and expanding our minds. It was amazing!!! There is always more to know if you jump in the game of life and give it your all. You just never know where you can go if you jump and trust that your parachute will open. I’ve always been one to go for things and take a risk if I really wanted something, and I did it again this weekend. How about you? Do you believe in yourself enough to invest in yourself, or are you playing it safe? You must let go of the familiar to allow for new things in your life to come in. It will never happen if you do not jump and experience the free fall of the unknown. It’s like playing in the minor leagues and now stepping up, and playing in the major league. I took a huge leap of faith and trust that I will strike a home run . Life is all about expression and expansion, and I want to always go to a higher level. What is it that is holding you back from jumping into life? If you want more, than you have to give more! Just jump and the world will give you more!!!
Need help with taking a risk? Call Monica today and find your faith and courage to take the jump!!! Invest in yourself!!!

Faith is finding answers in the heart. Sometimes life can be very challenging, and we’re, not sure how to move forward. Faith, will always guide you when you just take that first step. Faith cannot be seen by the eyes, or heard by the ears, but rather, felt by the heart. It is a trusting that all is moving towards the good when you take that leap of faith. You must first feed your mind with encouraging words. Then translate these thoughts into feelings that will begin to be supported by faith to begin believing in yourself. Every step you take to empower yourself, you are stepping into faith. Your faith will get stronger and stronger as you continually trust in yourself.
Faith comes from within. Nothing in the physical world will give it to you. You must develop it from within your mind and spirit. Fear will always test your faith. Whatever beliefs you grew up with that are keeping you stuck in feelings of lack, limitation, or unworthiness, needs to be transmuted into a life of faith. Faith can be developed, by meditation, study, prayer, forgiveness, love, and practice. Every day you can either live in fear, which will hold you back, and keep you imprisoned or move forward with faith. Life becomes a glorious adventure of freedom when you trust in your higher power and live in faith. I choose faith and freedom. How about you?

Do you know what you want? Do you know your purpose? If not, there will be some confusion in your mind that will resonate in your feelings, which will bring you undesirable results. You must be clear as to what you desire before you can see desirable results. When you have clarity, the universe will conspire and assist you in every way to match your desire. I know this is true in my life. When I have clarity as to what I want, I begin to see signs all around me helping me to fulfill that vision. I wanted to write a book, and when I was clear with this vision, all things came into focus as to how to accomplish it. Now it is published and the title is How May I Serve. I have a pen name; (Karen Mathews) Here is a short video about it.
This is the very first step to manifesting anything you truly want. So spend some time getting clear. Really think about what it is you want. This is probably the greatest work you can do for yourself. Look inside your heart and ask for guidance. Trust that the universe, is always listening. Believe that you can be, do, or have want you want, and take action, when you get clear. Soon it will become a reality. It will feel so good when you have that clarity!
Here’s to manifesting your dreams!
